What's the gap in your opinion? I'd say it's not that big, just enough where if they were to fight Android 17 would probably win for sure. So maybe like 10% gap, if you were to put it in numbers. |

Android #18: 700 Android #17: 800 Around 1.14x, or #18 at 87.5% of #17. |

Between a 10-20% gap is fine with me. There needs to be something or else Gero's stupid for "suppressing" #18 to barely lower than #17. |

30-50% gap. It wouldn't make sense for Dr Gero to keep them close in power considering the entire reason he made #18 weaker was because #17 didn't obey him. #17 says nobody rivals him, and while this is more subjective, I feel like Kamiccolo was implied to be leagues above Vegeta, while #18 using her full effort was shown to be only slightly above. |

Compromise. Android 18 is 3/4 of Android 17. 25% gap. |

Android 18 bitchslapped Vegeta through a mountain, picked his Super Saiyan son up, hit Vegeta with his own son, and knocked the super Saiyan out of both of them after breaking both of Vegeta's arms.how is thay slightly? Seems to me she beat the s*** out of him rather handily and was no worse for wear, save needing a new outfit. Piccolo didn't think he'd be able to take the two of them on at once, so I'd say the difference cant be that great (especially given that 18 gave Cell the superior power boost.) if anything I think Seventeen would have more energy and limiters removed than Eighteen, but their power cores and capabilities are the same. So Seventeeen has like a, what, 7 - 9% edge? My best guess. |

Of course she was no worse for wear, she has infinite energy, that was a big point of the fight. Vegeta was doing well at first, something even commented on by Trunks, but his lack of infinite energy made it easier and easier for #18 to curb stomp him further and further. Most of the things you listed happened at the end of the fight, when #18 was still at full power, and Vegeta was low on energy. Also Vegeta walks out of being bitchslapped through a mountain with a smile on his face. Vegeta did get some legitimate hits in himself, but when your opponent never loses ki those hits mean nothing. At one point they're even in one of those panels where they're constantly blocking each others attacks, which is usually reserved for fighters close in power (in fact this is where Trunks comments Vegeta's fighting her on par). She does have a power advantage over him, but it's not huge. |

Dude just because she has infinite energy doesn't mean that she cant be damaged or hurt. If Vegeta had enough power he could have damaged her electronics or actually knocked her around like Piccolo did to her brother in the season 4 finale. That and the androids aren't always the most serious fighters until they're in actual trouble. So I'm of the camp that's pretty sure that 17 & 18 were just jacking around with the Z-Fighters and thought of them as a mild inconvenience, especially on the merit that they didn't think it was even worth killing any of them. |

She can't be damaged in the sense any attack on her will never make her less than full power (unless she gets killed). Vegeta does knock her around once, he gets a nice wombo combo on her. But her and Vegeta aren't as close as Piccolo and #17, which is why I said she has an obvious power advantage, but if it was small enough for Vegeta to walk out of her hits smiling and get some hits in himself, and make Trunks comment on how close they were fighting. And the playing around argument doesn't work since she said she was going all out. |

Still though, I figure I'd at least see a wire or something hanging off. If Veggie popped an arm off she'd be reduced to less than full power, so I'm not convinced. And, again, she casually picked up one Super Saiyan (A fresh one I might add) and hit another super saiyam using him as a bat. Tired or not, when someone can do that to you, she's dominating you and not in the fun way. |

But Piccolo couldn't even do any real damage to #17. There were no wires hanging off there, or reducing his power by popping an arm off. Using that as evidence for Vegeta being far below #18 would suggest Piccolo was far below #17. Neither did lasting damage to their opponent, but both of them did manage to get some hits in, and block some hits. Piccolo did better because he was closer in power relative to his opponent, but Vegeta was holding his own. As for the Trunks thing - Super Saiyan Trunks was much weaker than Vegeta and had already been heavily injured by #17 (Krillin comments on how easily he got knocked out even as a Super Saiyan). I disagree with the "Tired or not" thing, it's much easier to get stomped when you're tired. That's just my view on the whole fight, if you disagree that's fine, but I think we should let the topic get back on track since it's clear we both have our views and aren't going to be swayed. |

You know, I think you're right. I'll agree to disagree then. Don't agree with your point, but damned if you don't defend it well and I'll fight to the death to protect your right to say it sir. Back to topic. I always did find it tough to gauge the androids. I partially scale them on their Future counterparts, who always struck me as dead even. So unless something insane happened in the main timeline versus trunks' timeline, I feel like they'd both be in that range. |

I'm pretty sure if Piccolo's Makosen that was used on Imperfect Cell hit #17 then he would have been wiped out completely. As for the gap between the Androids, I always worked on the basis that it would be the same gap in strength they had has humans before Gero got hold of them. So 10-20% works for me.
