Yeah it's pretty amazing how simple it was and so far no issues. Maybe we're just used to games launching as broken pieces of crap I've not had any issues with windows so far, as in program windows. With 8.1 Steam kept opening in a tiny window and everything was out of place. And a lot of the time windows had been opening wayyy off screen for no reason even though my computer is set to be on only one monitor. Glad I don't have to deal with that s***...well, so far anyway. Mainly I'm liking how Windows 10 isn't so in your face it's not like LOOK AT ME LOOK AT MY NEW STUFF, DO IT, DO IT ALL It's just like okay your computer is ready, do whatever you want, we've made many things easier for you

Oh yeah, it's very clean and allows you to use the new features whenever you want and not forces you to go over everything before you get a chance to try it out on your own. Yeah, after using the clean install...the only issue I've had was with my network adapter due to compatibility problems. I still say Windows should run Compatibility automatically until it finds a setting that works. |

Hmmm.... Anyone having sound issues? Twice now my sound has just totally stopped, it's definitely not muted. Seems to be after the display goes to sleep the sound just doesn't come back at all. I checked Firefox so by extension Adobe and VLC Player and no sound plays. Playback is also sketchy it seems to take ages for a track to start, YouTube videos load up and wait like 5 seconds to start playing(minus the sound) along with VLC player. It came back after I restarted it, I'll try sleep mode now. EDIT sleep mode fixed it. I don't know if it's definitely the display going off or if it's just like the computer being on too long but both times the display has been powered down. EDIT 2 Kay yeah 3 times in a row now after the display has went off. Tried a couple of solutions, can't seem to change the frequency to anything else and uninstalling and installing sound drivers did nothing. Kind of a weird issue, sound not working I could understand but videos and music tracks taking a long time to start playing is a bit weird. Ok so frequency did change...it said that it couldn't. Not sure if it's fixed now or not, I feel the issue is something different. Edited by Steve, Aug 4 2015, 02:41 AM.

That's very odd, sounds like a Driver issue...did you try to see if it wasn't Compatible with 10, if it wasn't did you check the Compatibility setting to see if you could roll back to settings to see what it is Compatible with? I know I had Compatibility problems with my Netgear wireless adapter. I kept getting a blue screen and all it would do is restart on me after that. |

I have no idea how not even sure what TV this is to be honest It's possibly working now though display was off many hours and the sound still worked, the frequency thing changed at some point guess it was the problem. It was set to 16 bit something but now is 24 bit something...it said it couldn't be changed then changed it anyway Is Cortana basically just a search engine and planner? Probably never going to use it. |

Just downloaded this thing. Won't be able to test it out until I get off work though. I must admit, I never got the start menu thing for 8, so I'm just now seeing it. I'm glad they didn't do the app screen like with 8, it wasn't that great. So far, I'm digging it. Not s huge an upgrade as I was expecting, but that's just fine. I really dig it. I'll have to really test it later though. |

Is anyone having an issue with Cortana killing their battery much faster than normal. I looked at my battery usage and it was at 60% and I don't even use Cortana. The next most draining app is Microsoft Excel at 1% which I had open for over 12 hours. |

Yeah, it's quite simple to disable all of that and not let Microsoft see anything you're doing. Personally, I don't care...I have nothing to hide or to be ashamed of. I don't pirate anything, I don't watch porn or even talk dirty online, or anything that could be legally used against me. So, this has absolutely no effect on me. I wouldn't be using Edge for anything shady anyway it's well known that IE complied a list of your internet history you couldn't delete without a third party program. Is nobody else having the same sound issues as me? It's not happening as much but still happening. It was set so that applications could take exclusive control of my speakers, which I thought was the problem because sound tests said that "the test could not be performed because another application is using the speakers" (or some s*** like that) Put that off obviously and it's still happening. Sometimes even if I just lock my computer instead of putting the display off. Might it be because I'm using a TV? No idea what model it is but it's a Toshiba, I guess perhaps it's too old to work properly? Think it's at least 4-5 years old. Hope it's a fixable issue though. I can live with it but it's still annoying and inconvenient. |

I love Edge, it's runs so smooth for me and it's extremely rare that it crashes. I've never heard of that problem before, but I'm still looking around online to see what it might be. It'll be fixed one way or another. Either Microsoft fixes it, or someone here will find the solution and inform you about it. |

Yeah I can't find anything similar, there are a few audio issues being had but nothing quite the same especially not the weird delay before audio would normally be played. I'm thinking it is TV related, doubt many people have the exact TV I'm using connected to a computer. Actually perhaps one thing I could try is a software update on the TV itself, it's usually an option. EDIT okay possibly found a fix, apparently not Windows 10 related if so as the question on the site is from 2012 about Windows 7. Had to find services.msc, go to Windows Audio and have it restart the audio whenever it fails, it was set not to. I guess updating the OS must have just changed that setting randomly. Cba waiting to check if it's totally fixed so will update if I notice it's still working when I get up again Guess that's why nobody seems to have reported it as a Windows 10 issue...odd that it would crop up for me now EDIT 2 seems to be working. What a weird setting though, whenever your audio breaks...why would you want it to stay off? Edited by Steve, Aug 7 2015, 10:57 AM.
