Freeza's transformation was unnecessary...; My thoughts

For starters, I'll just say that I'm not that big of a Freeza fan. That's just if someone decides to call me a fanboy after reading this.

The point of Goku surpassing his limits is that all the canon big baddies he encounters should symbolize the basic barriers a warrior has to confront and defeat, like King Piccolo was supposed to be the Devil, Vegeta was ment to be the strongest of Goku's race, Cell was in essence perfection as a whole, and Majin Boo above any other thing was supposed to symbolize pure evil, especially in his final and original form. And later one we have Beerus is a God which Goku can't defeat, in order to show that Goku is not invincible.

That's the idea I personally got from Goku fighting these guys, and what they all ment to the series.

But that brings the question: What's Freeza supposed to be? That's simple, what he calls himself several times: The Strongest in the Universe. And he, in fact, STILL is the strongest villain Goku has canonically ever faced and defeated. King Piccolo needed a wish from Shenron to become truly powerful and threatening, Vegeta had a transformation that pretty much saved his butt at one point, Cell needed to absorb two androids and Boo basically had to do the same on a bigger scale to be threatening even for his own Saga. And Beerus is basically a God, who has trained for Kami knows how and has achieved a different kind of power, one most cannot understand.

Freeza had RESTRAINED forms to contain his full potential, and even in those restrained forms he was tearing everyone apart. He never used an extra transformation like Cooler for example because there was no need for that. His maximum potential was more than enough to make him what could've been the final villain of Dragon Ball, the one able to match the Super Saiyan, Son Goku, the strongest man in the Universe.
Even when we later cut to his Mecha appearance, it's not a transformation of any sort, just some machines here and there to repair all the damage he had endured on a pretty gory fight. He gets beaten quite easily, but it's only made this way to show off Trunks' power.

But then we have "Golden Freeza", a transformation he has achieved by training (how does that even work?) and that just shows that Freeza now hides behind some "ultimate form" like the generic villain most people see him as. At first I thought it was both interesting and confusing, but after looking at it a little bit more and thinking about it, I ended up with the conclusion that Golden Freeza is a transformation that was never needed. How hard could it have been to just make Freeza much stronger after some intense training? Seeing Goku fight good ol' blank Furiza would've been a bajillion times better in my opinion.

I'm not saying his transformation was a bad thing, I just found it unnecessary for Freeza especially. It's just kinda wrong for his character. While I did enjoy Golden Freeza's moments, I just wanted to share my thoughts about it with y'all.

Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?!

Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power.

Some great points bro! But I dare say it all comes down to entertainment factors. We've all seen final form freeza fight (and a great fight it was) but that's been done! We all saw it, we all got our entertainment from it, why revisit it if there wasn't some exciting new stipulation?

Because it wouldn't peak as many interests. DBZ has already set the bench mark. In order to get stronger, you gotta transform, otherwise you're left behind. I don't think i need to explain my reasoning as its very obvious what i mean. In order to being freeza back successfully and still make him relevant, a transformation is necessary. It may not be the case for everyone, but it's pretty obvious AT thinks all the fans want to see is powerful new transformations. He's catering to his audience

Freeza's revival as a whole was handled rather poorly IMO. The training is even worse than the golden form. I don't care if you are some kind of prodigy, going from weaker than Namek SSJ Goku to nipping on the heels of Beerus in 4 months is utterly ridiculous. Hell his 1st form is probably stronger than SSJ3 Goku/Kid Boo at this point.

Freeza actually could have looked the same if he wanted to. He mentions how he made the Golden form gold to mock Super Saiyan, which means he had control over the color of it. Because of this, it means that if Freeza wanted to, he could look the same
