You know how they say with each child you get better raising it? Look at Gohan. Chi Chi was way too strict with the boy and Goku was honestly careless.

However with Goten it seems like Chi Chi mellowed out and Goku is actually being a father! I see good parenting with Goten. Do y'all agree? Goku and Goten bonded so well with each other and had great chemistry :). It always seem as if Gohan and Goku was on too different pages.

We haven't seen much of Goten with his parents but so far going by 2008 special and Super it's quite the good parenting compared to Gohan.

Well, Gokuu did probably gain some experience and knowledge.
But I doubt that he became a "good father" by our standards, because (**SPOILER**) when the chance came to go train with Kaio he left without even saying goodbye.
But by someone like Goten's standards, he is a pretty good dad.

I honestly don't see how Goku is more caring towards Goten than he is of Gohan at all. I always got the opposite impression (Gohan is the golden child while Goten is largely ignored).

Regarding Goten and Chi-Chi, I can see your point though in Super she seems to be putting a similar approach as Gohan in the education aspect strangely enough among other things.

Eh, I kinda feel like Goku didn't pay THAT much attention to Gohan. Like his expectations of him were really high and Goku always thought well of him, but... I dunno.

Poor Gohan. Good thing he has two Dads.

Goten had great parenting and a normal childhood. Gohan was more dysfunctional.

"I am the bone of my sword."

As already stated, Goten's life has been pretty much normal. Seven years of basically pure peace for him until Majin Boo came into the picture.

Poor Gohan on the other hand? Barely four years old before dear uncle came in and beat the crap out of everyone where his own father ended up being killed. Then the Saiyans came in, killing everyone including Gohan's second father figure. Here comes Namek now, everyone is dying this time and he's forced to watch his friend Krillin get blown up and then believe his father has died again on Namek. Cell comes in deciding break him in half and making the kids lose his s*** so badly he goes into an entirely new transformation.

It is literally amazing that Gohan doesn't have a psychotic split personality.

its not the same.
goku didnt even know he had a second child until goten was 7. so he found him at a later stage. goten also looks exactly like goku so it helps them connect from the start.

we know goku was like 19 when gohan was born and we dont know how old was goku because he spend 7 EARTH YEARS in the other world (time is different there), technically, he could be much older than vegeta in younger body.

also chi chi was poorer with goten so she couldnt afford strict expensive teachers, i dont think he even went to school, only works the farm and taught martial arts by gohan and chi chi (preety similar to ancient chinese farmers).

*trunks was studying sometimes and learning martial arts, goten was working and learning martial arts.

------------

but anyway goku escaped the first chance he got when he got money for a long time. (super episode 1)
he came to earth every once in a while but mostly trained with king kai.

so no, he wasnt a very good dad.
he is a sayian, he is a soft dad by sayian standards.
