For those who watched the first episode (I was lucky to watch it subbed), some of you may have noticed that Miss Piiza, Caroni and Pirozhki made cameo appearances. If you don't remember who they were, they were the announcer and Satan's two student that appeared in anime filler of the Cell games. Given their appearance, should we now consider anime filler from Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z canon, especially if this continues to happen? |

Toriyama didn't animate it, so unless he specifically wrote it into the script that those 2 would be the cameramen, then it's just a little bonus the animator threw in for long time fans. |

The real question I ask is whether this detracts from the content or not. After all, Akira Toriyama's author avatar appears on the money. |

What exactly would change if filler was canon besides feats and Boo arc stuff? |

Realistically? Nothing. To some people, the Multiverse would collapse in on itself. |

So far we've only seen tiny bits of references to the anime filler. I don't really count that as being canon, but even if it was, there's FAR worse canon to reference from the old anime. |
Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?! Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power. | |

These cameos were actually quite cute. Like a half-assed nod to half-assed filler. Like the authors said "We acknowledge there was this filler, but let's leave it at that". I liked it :P |

i said in another thread before, THIS IS EXACTLY LIKE DBZ AND OTHER ANIMES. there is a manga, and there is a tv show based on the manga. Akira Toriyama doesnt have a complete power (if any) over Toei Animation. they get a time slot and signed for certain number of episodes with commercials and then animate for these conditions. they also know that at some point they will catch up to the manga so they have a choice, make a kai style anime and then make filler arcs or make a DBZ style anime-story filled with fillers scenes and characters. personally i prefer the second option. even if the small fillers are bad and contradict manga, they are still better than a full filler arc YUCK !
