Are dumb in my opinion. There should always be PC versions of games. Am I alone in thinking this? |

I disagree. If Sony owns or controls these companies like Guerrilla Games, Sony San Diego, Sucker Punch Productions, Polyphony Digital, Sony Santa Monica and Naughty Dogs. then why wouldn't games like Uncharted, Gods of War, Grand Turismo and Infamous be Sony's exclusive? I hate timed exclusive from 3rd parties like square enx and Bioware. |

But then there'd only be one platform, PC. And that would just make everyone get lazy because they wouldn't have to compete with each other. Do you think Microsoft couldn't run Nintendo or Sony in to the ground if they wanted to? With their money they easily could, the competition makes every side strive to improve. I think PC needs it's own good exclusive series to stand out instead of just running every game a bit better. I don't see many console players saying "I want a PC so I can see an extra 10FPS omg!" But I see a lot of PS and Xbox fans saying "Uncharted/Halo looks awesome, wish I had an X1/PS4. There's not a lot to shout about on PC, nothing new anyway. |

How would games work that need the Wii U's gamepad, or other console exclusive things? |

I like discussing the exclusives with my coworkers. "But the PS4 has this so you're really missing out." "I really wish I had a PS4 for that." It would suck if nothing was exclusive. There'd be no fun or friendly competition in that. |

Right, or else there would just be one super console for every game. |

I'm fine with games having a console exclusivity. However, I am not alright with games being multi-platform but having exclusive content locked to a certain console. That's just punishing someone for apparent techno-heresy, it's anti-consumer and turns everyone vile and bitter. |

The problem with "PC exclusives" is that they usually end up getting ported a couple of years later anyway. Which is why I barely buy anything on Steam unless I want to support a developer doing a PS4 port, 'cause it's nice getting an optimized version. I don't mind exclusive console content so long as it goes to each platform at a later date. Or if it has something to do with the platform in question like if one for the Xbox had a Master Chief homage, PlayStation doesn't really need that. Otherwise yeah it's dumb. Not gonna buy an X1 just because there's a couple of cool extra missions in a game for it, which you typically still have to pay for anyway...just...why... |

Honestly I don't really like exclusives, and I do think pc by and large has the most and best exclusives... But most are indy or rts or MMO. In addition mods help elongate games lifespan, all around pc is the best most of the time, devs not optimizing for pc aside. If a game utilizes something about a console that's special to it I can get it staying exclusive, otherwise it's probably just fine because Sony/Nintendo/Microsoft owns the company that's making it, which kind of sucks. |

Consoles just really seem pointless right now. Xbox Ones and PS4s are both being sold at a loss, the same processors inside them are architecturally identical to desktop hardware, games have long load and install times, PCs are getting graphics software that matches the efficiency of consoles, companies like Microsoft are moving to integrate everything, backwards compatibility is exclusive to either PC or Xbox One (with glitches and bad performance in the latter). Consoles have no point anymore. The Xbox One and PS4 can't remotely compare to the Xbox 360 and PS3. |

Not on PS4 takes like 20 seconds to install games that are 20gig+ and PS Now is fairly stable I believe, besides when it's a broken game you're playing. I think the main issue with consoles right now is we barely get any console games, as in there's practically no split screen multiplayer on X1 and PS4. Not to mention the controllers are extortionate anyway. You want four friends playing a game, gonna cost you an extra £150 or so... If you can even find a game that works with four people. |

The idea of exclusives in many cases is pointless and not very friendly to gamers, having to buy a specific system for a specific game is silly, if there's a game I like and it turns out it's only on the Gamebox 420, I'm not going to bother buying the system and I'll forget about the game. Partly because the PC has a larger library of games to keep me occupied, but also because I don't have a load of disposable cash, even if I had to cash, I wouldn't, there are better things to spend money on than a console for one game, maybe three? Obviously some people like consoles, I don't, prefer my keyboard and mouse, or any other input device I require. Unless it's a game specifically designed for the system, like a lot of Wii games, then I see no reason why it should be an exclusive, but to me, the Wii has always been a party console or one for children and that's fine, no idea why they made COD for it, that seemed silly but whatever. All in all, exclusives are silly unless they are for specific features of a system. |
