Here's what I think about the strongest metal in the wacky universe of DBZ: Kachin wasn't necessarily a metal that only the Kaioshin can materialize into existence, but a metal that exists throughout the entire DB universe. The special part about the Kaioshin training scene, is: Kaioshin utilized his magical powers to strangely create a giant block, which was needed for their sword training. No earthling, of course, was capable of doing that, so that's probably why Kachin seemed so special to us. So, however, that can explain why Gero had a door made of Kachin (which the Z-fighters couldn't budge). That has now been justified why they couldn't. In short--anyone in the DB universe can access Kachin (such as mad scientists like Gero building doors for security... and perhaps farmers like Son Goku owning a tractor that could be made of that same metal, which could explain how the tractor would hurt Goten), but only a god of some sort might be the only one capable of creating a giant block, which is kind of out of the earthling ordinary. So basically Kachin is just Shounen Jump's Vibranium or Adamantum. Rare, but not actually magic. |

I was always under the impression that he magically created (not invented) the hardest known material in the universe. Like one would magically create a tree. What would lead anyone to believe otherwise, might I ask? |

Some members seemed pretty surprised when they discovered the entry stating Doctor Gero's door was made of Kachin. I remember there being a multiple page discussion over said matter around a couple years ago. That's some of the reason why I brought this back up. |

So Kachin has large planet+ durability? Kuririn couldn't break it and he's > 1st form Freeza. Well it makes sense considering Adamantum has like galaxy level dura from what I can remember. So if Saiyan arc Vegeta destroyed the Earth, that would be left? lmao

Thanks, Soup. Something to add: Goku's tractor was made from Capsule Corp. It's certainly believable that they can get their hands on some Kachin from around Earth, and even make some of their products from it. Who knows. This is all just something to think about. I wouldn't be surprised if we can some fun statement like this in the near future. |

You have to wonder just how resistant this Katchin alloy actually is. It successfully withstood a sword strike from a blade that has been a core element to Kaio mythos for thousands of years. Kaioshin described it as being the hardest metal in the universe. Could you imagine the possibilities if Katchin was harnessable for armour? Hell! Why not ask Shenron to have everyone's gis/clothing infused with the properties of Katchin that make it so resistant? That might actually be some armour worth wearing if it's shock-absorbent and nigh indestructible. It would be the Dragonball equivalent to kevlar. |
