Zeru had Hiei beat all but Darkness Flame
Chu fought Yusuke to a purely physical fight
Toya was revered as a true master of ice
Jin had Yusuke beat all but Spirit Wave

Who takes?

my energy rank/class guess
Toya (C/C*) < Zeru (C+) < Chu (C+/C+*) < Jin (C+*)

I think Jin's got Chuu beat for sure. At that point Yusuke and Chu and Yusuke had very similar powers, and they managed to cancel each other out. Chu's technique is like a bigger (but not stronger) spirit gun, and Jin trumped that before. And he had Yusuke on the run (literally) with the aerial advantage.

Zeru vs Touya though. Touya has been shown using his ice to reduce the powers of greater demons (That one S Class in Season 4 and Kurama in DT, so he can really hold the field down. Zeru's pyro kinesis is great, but doesn't seem that different from Touya's fridgid version of hydro kinesis. Its a close match, but id ultimately give the edge to the Shinobis. Besides, Chuu is the actual team captain and is actively stronger than Zeru. So if Jin beats him, no reason he can't take Zeru with Touya's help. Jim's probably the last demon standing.

1st off Zeru didn't have Hiei beat before the Dragon came out, Hiei no sold Zeru's attack then decided to use the Dragon.

2nd, Toya wasn't capable of using power reducing during the Dark Tournament which I assume is versions that we're using. Other wise Chu is definitely on his own since Zeru is dead.

I'd go with Team 2. They are probably around the same strength with Jin being the strongest and possibly the most versatile out of everyone here with Toya being a close second if not on par. I'm pretty sure Zeru's flames could either be negated by Toya's cold or Jin's wind. And while Chu might tbe the best at CQC here, Jin and Toya have means of creating distance (flight for Jin and Matekis Sandansha for Toya) and tagging him from afar. Jin's tornado fist counters Chu's drunken boxing as he doesn't need a direct hit to effectively tag him. Zeru is probably the weakest here (I feel like that making a decent reki shield is enough to ward off his flames) as has the least feats so he'd probably lose to anyone on Team 2.

I'd roll with
Jin > Chu (close)
Chu > Toya (close)
Toya> Zeru (by a decent margin)

Sup buddy!

iirc, Hiei needed Jaganshi to recover from Zeru's attack; also Kurama states that Hiei would not have risked his arm in using the Dragon if he didn't need it to defeat Zeru.

@ Toya
Toya did not use that ability in Dark Tournament, so he can't use it here. It is admittedly hard to rank him, but I'm confident that Jin is considerably stronger (at least a debut); the manga seems to hint so.

I feel as if Zeru got more hype than Toya; not sure what that means, but its there.

Sup.

I don't think that the Jagan could be used to recover, bring scans that say otherwise. However I believe he does need the Jagan to summon the Dragon which he did afterwards. And yeah I guess Zeru was pretty strong even without Kurama's statement.

However Toya was also callled a formadible master of ice by Hiei (though it was in comparison to Seriyu and Yukina) so I guess that evens out.

I think I might maintain he opinion that Toya is stronger than Zeru (slightly) but the gap would be closer than I originally thought.

And yeah I'd say that they are around the same ballpark of power but Jin being the strongest.
