I thought I'd get the ball rolling since the fixtures have been released.

This looks like it could be a very interesting season with the likes of Bournemouth and Watford competing in the Premier League.

How can it be both crazy money and worth it?

Definitely a risk, but time will tell whether he's worth it or not. Just need to be patient with him if he doesn't set the world alight in his first season.

Crazy because he's very young and hasn't proven himself, but it will be worth it in a few years time. Doesn't this make sense?

I just don't think it can be considered crazy money if he turns out to be worth it. I guess you could say it's crazy at the time because it remains to be seen whether he'll be worth it, but if he ends up being worth it, then it wasn't crazy, it was a justifiable fee for a young player that they believed would develop into a quality player.

Unless you consider all transfers to be just as much about luck and factors outside the club's control in terms of whether they'll settle into the league and the team, as they are about how thoroughly the club has scouted the player. Then, sure, every big money transfer can be considered crazy when you can't be certain they'll work.

There's no guarantee he'll break through. Even if he does, I'll still consider it crazy money. Crazy money doesn't necessarily mean it's not worth it.

De Gea looks to be a done deal. They're supposed to be getting Keylor Navas in return (as well as the money) which should soften the blow a little. He's a decent keeper.

Navas wants guarantee of being 1st choice, I can understand that.

Leve Feyenoord 1!

Navas is more of a Swansea/Stoke/Southampton quality keeper.

Maybe he'll do well but ManU could use someone better

Complete chaos in the transfer story of de Gea. Real Madrid didn't get the documents back from Man Utd in time, so La Liga said the transfer couldn't go through. However, both clubs say they have evidence the document did get through and that a computer glitch is the fault.

Both clubs will look more at it tomorrow, both hopeful that the transfer will indeed go through.

That's not 100%. It looks like he'll stay, but it's not completely true yet.

Now it's over. Real Madrid is blaming Man Utd for the whole thing.

I can't imagine a club like United did much wrong. Too professional. This seems like Real Madrid's c*** up to me. Either way, someone had their thumb up their a*** and now everyone suffers.

Nothing wrong, but the theory is they did it all on purpose. Real Madrid could've given what Man Utd asked for de Gea in June, July or August, but they didn't. Real Madrid f***ed up, simple as that. No sympathy from me.

Probably works out for Madrid considering his contract's up at the end of this season. They'll most likely get him for free now.
