I thought I'd get the ball rolling since the fixtures have been released.

This looks like it could be a very interesting season with the likes of Bournemouth and Watford competing in the Premier League.

Burnley also promoted today as Brighton and Middlesbrough face each other in the last round of the Championship

Cool, I like their manager Sean Dyche and they should have more money this season due to parachute payments.Kind of cruel that Brighton and Middlesbrough have to play each other in the final game. If they both played anyone else and both won then Burnley would have dropped to third.

How so? Burnley still has a 2-point lead over them and they face Charlton Athletic in their last match. Burnley would've gotten promoted either way, it's just that it now Burnley's promotion is a fact, even on paper.

It was poor wording, it's not that they would have dropped to third but could have. If Burnley lost and both of them won then Burnley would have dropped out of the automatic places. Can't happen now because they play each other so only one of them could win and go ahead of them.

The fact that Leicester City wins the Premier League shows just how much the league has dropped in quality. No disrespect to Leicester, I like the team quite a lot and have for many years now, but the fact that none of the teams with a lot of money and fantastic players can utilize their potential is incredibly pathetic. I don't see an english team winning the Champions League for many years to come, the league is just too weak at this point.

I wouldn't say many years to come. There was a period less than ten years ago when English teams were dominating Europe and the sentiment was "wow, this is gonna go on for ever". Spells like that never last as long as you think they will, so I'd say in 5 years time there's a possibility of English teams becoming what they once were in Europe. I agree though, the current outlook doesn't look good.

I also agree that Leicester winning the league is more about everyone else being s*** and not them being good (further proven by the runner-up being Tottenham). It's still a massive achievement considering they were bottom of the league for a large chunk of last season, so like you said, I don't wanna take away from that. But for example, I feel like Wenger should be sacked. If Arsenal can't win the league when City, Chelsea and United all have poor seasons, they're never gonna win it under him.

To be fair, you see the same thing happening in other leagues.
Celta de Vigo has become a top team from out of nowhere, probably playing Europa League next season. Recently promoted UD Las Palmas is in 10th for no apparent reason.
AC Milan is doing a Chelsea.
Hertha BSC has a good chance of playing Champions League next season.
Angers SCO that just promoted this year were in 3rd place for a very long time in France. PSG is just utterly destroying the competition over there.
The great clubs in Belgium have to make room for common clubs such as Gent and Oostende.

FFS Atlético is probably going to the Champions League final. I'm not complaining, they're my favorite Spanish team, but still. Before they became champions they used to fight for Europa League football. And besides Griezmann, who are the really big names over there? It's not like they have Ronaldo, Bale, Rodriguez and Modric or Messi, Suarez, Neymar and Iniesta.

The difference is that in all the other top leagues a top team is the champion. Bayern already champion in Germany, Juventus in Italy and either Barcelona, Real Madrid and At. Madrid in Spain. PSG in France.
Celta had great growth when Luis Enrique was there in 2013-14, so that's no surprise to me. Las Palmas being mid-table is pretty surprising though, I'll give you that.
AC Milan has been struggling for years now, they haven't been top 4 since 12-13. They just don't have the same potential anymore and they are struggling finanicially.
Not surprised by Hertha either, they have always been a solid team barring a few bad seasons. I always thought they'd utilize their potential with a manager that fit the team well and they finally found him in Preetz. They have a solid team on paper.
Kudos to Angers, the standard in France has been pretty lacking recent years. A few years ago I thought PSG and Monaco were gonna be the two big teams competing for the league every year, but Monaco doesn't have as much money as first thought. Marseille has disappointed greatly for years now. Lyon seems to come back.
Interestingly I looked at Oostende a few seasons ago and said they had great potential in their players. Looks like I was right.

Spain has been dominating the Champions League recent years along with Bayern. It's no surprise that a team of At. Madrid's calibre reach the final. Shows integrity.

Yeah, like Emmeth said, similar cases, but not the same. The only league that would come close is Atletico winning La Liga, but even they aren't as big a surprise as Leicester (maybe if Tottenham won the league that would be an apt comparison). Leicester winning would be like Granada winning La Liga.

Also, the Premiership has 4 teams who could be expected to win the league in recent years (City, Chelsea, United, Arsenal). It was almost like the perfect storm of mediocrity. Chelsea somehow going from winning the league to terrible. Man Utd still not fully recovered from losing Fergie. City having a down year. Arsenal being Arsenal. Usually two of those things happen, maybe three, but all four at once left the title wide open for somebody else (even Liverpool after their title challenge were back down the table again). It probably should have been Tottenham, or Everton, or even Southampton, teams who have been decent the last few years, but Leicester stepped up to the plate, and that's an achievement in itself.

First League 2 playoff between Plymouth and Portsmouth ends 2-2. A better result for Portsmouth since they are stronger away.

Wow, what an awefull last day of the PL. Nobody was feeling like doing their best???

Chelsea and Leicester both had nothing to lose. Put it on a draw
Spurs just didn't know which sport they were playing.
West Ham doesn't care for EL apparently.
City just didn't feel like it.
Liverpool put up a bad fight.
Man United didn't even enter the field.
