I thought I'd get the ball rolling since the fixtures have been released. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/fixtures This looks like it could be a very interesting season with the likes of Bournemouth and Watford competing in the Premier League. |

He's done it before. He must be their 'on call' caretaker manager. Not a bad fall-back. Awful performance for Liverpool, and a pretty bad run of games, but it speaks volumes of the 'quick, form an opinion now!' attitude of football fans. Klopp can't exactly be judged as not up to scratch when he's working with a team of players that he may or may not have wanted to sign, that may or may not fit into the way he wants to play, and that were playing pretty poorly prior to his arrival. On top of that, he's getting to grips with the playing style of the Premiership (with injuries rife throughout the squad). I don't think he can be judged for the remainder of the season, barring something like a bottom half of the table finish. Once he's had a full summer to review everything he's learned this season about the league and his current roster of players, sign the players he wants, and figure out the best style of play for this league, that's when he can start to be judged. |

What does everyone think of playing matches on boxing day? Seems most people agree it's a stupid idea. I don't know why we can't have a winter break like everyone else. Is it too much to ask to have one or two extra weeks at the end of the season instead?

It doesn't really bother me whether there's games on Boxing Day or not, but it does seem silly that when most of the top leagues in Europe have a few weeks break, we fit in three rounds of games. Like you said, I don't see the harm in missing even just one weeks worth of games to give everyone a rest and adding that on at the end of the season. It might help us in European competitions too. |

Liverpool did good again today. Seems like they are in good hands under Klopp. Arsenal on the other hand, 4-0 to Southampton. Their inconsistency is why they haven't won the league since 2004. Manchester United look like a Championship side right now. It says a lot when Fellaini is the best player on the pitch. |

This is such a weird season. If the results keep being as unpredictable as this Leicester might actually have a chance of winning the league, or at least finishing in the top 4. Good result for Liverpool, but we've played well in big games under Klopp. A win in the next game, away at Sunderland, will be a better sign, since it's those types of games we've dropped points in recently. |

Leicester might qualify for CL in just their second season and Tottenham might join them. Then we have teams like Crystal Palace and West Ham looking like they might get a Europa League place. The league is indeed weird this season. |

Oh yeah. My bad. For some reason I thought they were higher. Well if they keep that silly fair play system then they might qualify through that again. |

I wouldn't say disappointing. They're 10th, which is around where they can expect to finish (I'd say 8th would be the highest they could have expected to finish in the league). Liverpool luckily don't play until Wednesday, but there are 8 games tomorrow, 48 hours after every team played yesterday. Crazy. |

La Liga has a 10 day break (20th-30th December). We finish on the same day (May 15th), but we start 13 days earlier. So that's a 10 day break for La Liga teams mid-season, plus 13 days at the beginning of the season, yet both leagues play the same amount of games. It must be the extra cup games that we play in the Premiership that cause the cramped schedule. Edit: Just out of interest, I checked out the other top leagues (minus Bundesliga because they have less teams). Ligue 1 has a 19-day break in Dec/Jan, and starts and finishes the same weekend we do. Serie A has a 15-day break in Dec/Jan, finishes the same week, but starts 14 days later than us. Both leagues have the same amount of teams. Edited by Mitas, Dec 27 2015, 04:41 PM.

They should get rid of The Capital One Cup. It's s*** prize money and no one would miss it. |

I was gonna say in my edit above, I wonder what the reaction would be to Premiership teams pulling out of the Carling Cup. Defunct the Johnstone's Paint Trophy, since that only allows League One and League Two teams to compete, and make the Carling Cup a competition for League One, Two, and the Championship. Lower league teams probably appreciate the extra chance at being able to play a game against a Premiership team though, since it probably helps them out financially. |

Johnstone's Paint Trophy is another huge waste of time that no cares about. I honestly think the FA cup is enough. They don't need two big league crossing tournaments. I wish I could speak to Gregg Dyke about this. I have a feeling he's being held to ransom by the corporates. Ed Balls is now the chairman of Norwich. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/35185636 For those who don't know who he is, he was the shadow chancellor of the exchequer for the UK last year. Had Labour won the election he would have been deputy prime minister. Now he's in charge of Norwich FC. Edited by Pelador, Dec 28 2015, 01:07 PM.
