I thought I'd get the ball rolling since the fixtures have been released. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/fixtures This looks like it could be a very interesting season with the likes of Bournemouth and Watford competing in the Premier League. |

We already have a Premier League Discussion thread. But if we're gonna use this, I'd suggest changing the title to "2015-16 Premier League Discussion" or something like that. I'm liking Man United's fixtures for the season. Can't really see any point were we'll have a rough selection of fixtures. Looking forward to the Champions League draw, although that's not til August. |

West Ham is facing FC Lusitanos from Andorra in de EL First Round. Sounds like that's going to be a tough game... |

I started a Liverpool FC blog. Just finished the first part of a season preview and would appreciate feedback from anyone who has the time spare to read it: http://crowdgobananas.blogspot.co.uk/2015/08/201516-season-preview-part-i-ingoings.html |

I read it all. It looks very professional apart from maybe too many uses of brackets. That's probably my only negative criticism and I'm being picky because I thought it was a brilliantly written piece. |

Got a bit s*** for two seasons after Ferguson left but it should be back to where it was this season due to some of the best signings in world football. |

Thanks! Yeah I did notice the excessive use of brackets when I read it after first putting it up. I'll try to work more of them into the actual sentences next time around. |

What does everyone think of the new offside rule? Basically even an attempt to play the ball when in an offside position qualifies as offside now. Just like in the FIFA games. My issue is that it creates even more work for the referees and his assistants. They now have to make an extra judgement to determine intent or not. You're obviously going to have many instances of players denying such attempts and many more dubious decisions made by referees. It doesn't even work that well in the FIFA games and 99.9% of the decisions there are correct. I think it's a flawed practise that makes everyone's jobs a lot more difficult. |

Completely agree. I can see the reasoning behind it, since even if a player isn't involved in play, just their presence impacts on the jobs of the defenders, but like you said, this addition only makes things more complicated for everyone involved. I just finished the second part of my season preview if anyone's interested: http://crowdgobananas.blogspot.co.uk/2015/08/201516-season-preview-part-ii.html . Feedback and constructive criticism is welcomed from those kind enough to take the time to read it. Also, is there a way to change the topic title? It's probably just my inner need to organise things, but I think it would be better if it were labelled 'English Football 2015-16 Season', or something along those lines. Or should someone just create an Official Premiership topic and we could use this for anything that doesn't have a topic? Like the new rules you mentioned, or lower league football etc. |

Elites used to be able to edit their own topic titles. Don't know why they removed that. If someone could edit the topic title to "2015/16 Premier League Discussion" that'd be great. I'll make a topic for the other leagues |

Pelador might be able to do it since he's a Legend. Season starts tomorrow. Man Utd vs Tottenham to start things off, and Chelsea vs Swansea in the evening. Should be two good games to watch. What's everyone's predictions for the season? Chelsea are probably favourites to win it, but it's been a while since a team has won it twice in a row. I think Arsenal are going to be dangerous this season, but I just can't consider them challengers until they actually do it, what with them beginning every season as challengers and tailing off at various points. |

After some thought, Manchester United probably need one more season for their players to find the right system before they win the league. I don't think Chelsea look that strong based on pre season friendlies but they didn't last season either and still won. You're right about Arsenal, something about their behind the scenes seems to cause too many injuries across the squad. Manchester City look like garbage. They might not even finish top four this time. Liverpool could do very well but will struggle to make top five with Tottenham and Southampton looking decent as well. It's probably going to be between United, Arsenal and Chelsea with a random in fourth like Swansea or Southampton or something. |
