Last week my laptop gave me a scare when I tried booting it up only to get the question mark of death. Thankfully, there's an Apple store just a mile a way, and a technician there was able to fix my laptop and return it the same day I left it with him. I thought it was a failed hard drive and I was going to lose all my stuff, but the problem was just the bracket connecting the disk to the logic board, so nothing lost. But I should start making regular backups. Now it's been a while (almost 2 years) since I properly backed up everything I want to keep. Important research things are attached to emails I send, so it wouldn't be the end of the world if I lost my hard drive, but I would rather not lose. I've been stalling on backing things up because I'm not sure what medium to use. Should I buy an external hard drive, or multiple DVDs, or flash drive with lots of space? Or maybe I should backup my data using some cloud service? Last time I just burned my stuff to a DVD, but that's when everything would fit on one DVD. Now the things I want to save exceed 10GB, so I'd need 2 or 3 of them. What do you people use to back things up? |

I use flash drives, an external hard drive, and my secondary laptop. Soon I'm gonna even use my desktop for that purpose here as well. I shouldn't lose anything then. |

I'm a huge procrastinator, I also think about backing stuff up and I read topics like this but I never do it. |

I host all important things online or on an external HD. I think I'm up to like 9 externals now. xD |
