Ridiculous that in the 21st century, people who aren't white are being discriminated against like this.

You'd be surprised Pel. I had to carry my paternity test around for three weeks because id get funny stares at the market when I was with my daughter, who genetically just turned out really light.

No

I lived in Leicester for three years and maybe I was at the wrong (or right) places but I never really saw anything like that happen. It's not surprising that that kind of s*** still goes on, though.

Sadly it does still happen, although its not as "acceptable" as it once was.

In my experience I've only ever heard somebody talking about racial hatred once, at that was in a proper back water bar somewhere in my local town. He was going on about immigrants and then moved onto black people, which although would not be cool as it is, my step father is black, as are my two sisters.......and just to hear some of the stuff he was coming out with, it was shocking.

I was there with my biological father, so once we kind of both announced that not only is that severely uncool in this day and age, but I have people of Jamaican origin in my family.....this guy turned even whiter than he was, and quickly exited the bar.

Guys like that, and people that discriminate don't even deserve to be beaten up in my mind. They deserve to know they are the weaker species for stooping so low to begin with, and live with that for the rest of their lives.

Honestly, I find it hard to imagine a world where humanity doesn't discriminate. It's seemingly in our genetic make-up. If it's not skin colour, gender, or sexuality, it's hair colour, the type of music you like, or the type of clothes you wear. Humans are seemingly discriminatory at heart.

It's an old defence mechanism. If something unfamiliar to your tribe approaches then you have to be cautious.

But we don't live in tribes any more and we have social media. There's very few excuses if any for discrimination.
