I just had a weird thought that Mario 64 is almost the closest thing we have to a freeroam Dragonball game. I'm talking early Dragonball, like Emperor Pilon early. Mario has many of the same abilities as Goku up to the first Martial Arts tournament. Base Mario has super strength, durability, and dexterity. His power-ups put him on the level of a DBZ character in some ways. They can make him fly, shoot ki, turn metal, grow stronger, etc? So how strong do you think he is compared to Dragonball characters? I would say: Mushroom boost: 2x, vFlower boost: 1.5x , Star boost: 10x (or maybe 50x to be comparable to SSJ). Mario (base): Around a PL of 50. Mario (Mushroom powered): 100 for a 2x boost. Mario (Flower Power): 150 Mario with a star power: 500 I would say Mario with star power, fireball, and flying upgrades could take BoDBZ Goku and Piccolo. Hypothetically, if he could use all of his power-ups on the spot as "techniques", who do you think is the strongest DBZ character Mario could defeat? How about Bowser? Upon first reading this, the idea was really odd and I almost just walked away from the thread. Thinking about it more, I can kind of see where you're coming from. But I still have some criticism. I agree his strength proves to be higher than any normal human at times, like lifting Bowser. So yes to that. He is quite dexterous but hardly super. And his durability? Very iffy. He can fall on lava and not melt instantly, but he can only take a few punches and falls. Maybe he just has high heat tolerance, but medium blunt force resistance? Now his power ups. First off he can't fire any projectiles, not in 64, so he's has no counter-attack for ki attacks. Not the end of him though I will say. His metal suit is very sturdy, but there aren't a lot of high-end strength feats shown by enemies besides the bosses. Hard to tell if it's truly invulnerable. He also has no star power in that game, so invulnerable or not, that hardly matters. Sure, he can fly, but if the game physics mean anything it's quite limited compared to a DB character's. At most, if he had all his powers from all his games, he shouldn't get past the 22nd TB, and that's being generous. His main problem is his lack of speed. He's quick, but not anywhere close to moving faster than the eye can see. This would likely be his downfall to anyone with DB level speed. Or does he have a speed powerup? Maybe I'm missing something. And should a KHH be fired, well... It's just a maybe that even with his "invulnerability" he won't get anywhere but possibly away from his opponent. His best chance is to take the invisible cap and get the hell out of dodge. |

I think he is "invincible" in the Mario games because he becomes insanely more powerful than any of his enemies. That's why I would compare it to SSJ. I'm also not just talking about Mario in 64, but just in general. If you could combine some of his better power ups like flight, fireball shooting, and strength power ups like mushrooms, how far would he get? I think with all that and star power he could defeat BoDBZ Goku. |

I wasn't aware that you meant Mario in general. Still, if we use his highest end feats, and truly make him invincible, then he may stalemate some of the stronger db characters. If we allow him to instakill and have no time limit, he could potentially beat anyone. But that's helping him out and he will still struggle until he wears the opponent down. That might take a long time considering they can just keep away from him without much energy drain. |

Galaxy and the Paper Triology had some boarderline cosmic to semicsomic feats for Super Mario. He's kinda in Kirby's category. I'd probably comfortably place him in the season 6 to season 7 range. Mario cant be beat lol. |
