I used to be really good at saving every cent I had, but I've slowly gotten worse as I've gotten more income again. I'm going to start saving every penny except for the odd purchases, I have two savings accounts and an RSP. I'd like to invest in the stock market as well, but that's a bit too risky for me.

What about you?

I have 3 places of saving.

My long term savings:
This is money I've been saving since I was 15. This is where my money from work goes too. From GameStop to my current job at a phone store. It's rarely touched and only used for future bills and kids.

My med term savings:
Pay check money. 25% of work goes here and Parent loan. This is for stuff I want or other people want.

Waste:
Money that I find or somehow appear that I waste.

I think I'm average or pretty good w/ money.

.

I live paycheck to paycheck but I have value in my possessions. If needed I can sell off a few dozen pieces of cardboard to buy a used car. But I always budget my money.

I have a system of priority for spending:

My money gets broken up into 3 parts.

1. Long term/emergency money/things that are a must buy! Pretty self explanatory really, things that are a must buy usually falls under things that break. Things like tools, furniture, car parts, s*** like that.

2. Bills/basic living expenses. Bills come in no matter how much you yell and swear at the mail box! So a portion gets put into savings for bills and the rest goes to food and other household necessities.

3. Mad money/holidays/extra goodies. Hey, you can't just live from pay to pay and give yourself nothing to enjoy. What a crummy life! You gotta give yourself something! All that hard work can't be for nothing. Right now I'm putting money away for a bali holiday coming up next month :) usually this money goes to treating the misses and I to a date night once a week, impulse buys, s*** like that, and the rest goes to a future holiday. We're looking at new Zealand next year so that should be fun :)

budgeting is easy. All you have to do is stick to it. As long as you cover all your bases you'll never be in trouble. The hardest part is starting it! But once you've got a bit of nest egg behind you its all guns blazing!

Flashy Thing!

I'm doing a decent job at saving money. I have a relatively large amount saved up but I lack investments. I just need a good stable job and then I'll start investing.

I have some money saved up for retirement in 3 different plans so I think I'm doing a decent job at that

I bought a house at 22 (now 26). Sold it for a $175,000 profit earlier this year. Bought a condo with a spectacular view.

Aside from buying a new 2014 BMW 4 Series (custom order from Germany), I have been pretty smart with my money.
