Can there be any effective treatments for psychopaths?

Apparently there is nothing anyone can do about genuine psychopaths besides locking them away. If you suffer from schizophrenia then you can take anti psychotic drugs or even undergo brain surgery in extreme cases. But a true psychopath is untreatable. Unless we can find some way of restoring their sense of empathy then it looks to remain that way for the foreseeable future.

Is there anything that can be done?

Lobotomy would be a technical cure, but not a very nice one

This just means we're knowledgeable to have yet found a solution to curing Psychopaths.

What we understand now is that Psychopaths are ego-sytonic[1] in their anti-social behavior and any therapy isn't going to be that useful other than showing them ways to manipulate others. I should also bring up that that that the vast majority of people diagnosed a Psychopath aren't murders or child abusers. Those vast majority in Prison are diagnosed with Anti-social disorder and not Psychopathic disorder.

Going back to the OP, the fact that there isn't a cure doesn't mean that one doesn't exist. If future psychologist change the paradigm for diagnosing individuals as Psychopaths a cure may not be needed and therapy may indeed help these individuals.
[1] Egosyntonic is a psychological term referring to behaviors, values, feelings that are in harmony with or acceptable to the needs and goals of the ego, or consistent with one's ideal self-image.
