Yes everyone, call your sons Susan and your daughters Richard.
They'll understand the social movement, of course they want to be a part of it at 3 days old it's not like they have no choice in the matter and that you're forcing them in to a lifestyle for ridiculously stupid reasons.

Bullying? What's that?

Hah, don't be stupid the other kids will "get it" and not bully our kids. Susan won't be getting kicked in the balls and pushed in the mud and nobody will glue moustaches on Richard. At all. Kids are gentle and wonderful and can fully understand the life choices we force upon them, for the greater good!

Eh, I have friends who have names that could be considered agendered. It doesn't mean people think that way. Most kids don't have a problem with that sort of thing - more likely is the parents of future bully will say something and the kid will pick up on that.

Also fyi, I know a female Elijah, a male Lane, and a female Christian.

Honestly, i'm sure you've read far stupider things than this.

It truly was a Shawshank redemption

If they are naming their children a particular name because they like the name, then I have no problem with that. It's just a label, the gender connotations are as man-made as the names themselves. However, I do not agree with people using kids as a way to make statements and express their world views (and, maybe controversially, I think people who do that aren't fit to be parents). If you're calling your little girl a name commonly used for boys (or vice versa) because you want the world to know you don't believe in gender (or whatever) then you are not treating them like human beings, you are treating them like objects, using them as a means of protest. To me, that is just as wrong as the issue they are protesting in the first place.

These people need to allow their children to grow into human beings in their own right, and trust that they create an environment that produces a good person.

"Course. Doing better next time. That's what life is."

One of my old friends' Dad's name was Tracy, he seemed to get along in life just fine. Bullies will happen no matter what, they'll find a reason to pick on ya, Agendered name or not.

Leve Feyenoord 1!

I never really got this trend of giving your baby a "unique" name. Your children will just end up getting bullied.
Some of these I kinda get, Elijah kinda fits for a girl. Lane kinda fits for a boy.
But calling a girl Bennet? Or even worse, a boy called Daisy???
Congratulations you've proved to be an utterly stupid narcissistic parent who doesn't care about their own child.

Yeah this is the problem.

While I wouldn't call my kids anything that would go for either gender, names like Ashley and Jordan are fine.

But to name your child for a social statement is just sad, condemn them to being bullied and/or being "weird" their whole life just because you wanted to sent a message and were to lazy to do it any other way.

I just think it's sad how they don't think ahead or simply don't care whatever flak their child gets for their name.
What if there are particularly mean kids in the local highschool that end up making Deborah so depressed he kills himself? Could happen easily.

I think it's kind of dumb that parents can name their child whatever they want there should be some processing to it with social services "No you can't name her Megatron McFagDestroyahUltimate pick a goddamn normal name please"

It's something the child has no say in for many years, much like how people force their kids in to religion.

It is pretty dumb. Some names just don't fit the other gender. Call a boy Jennifer, call a girl John. It don't work.

Just leave your kid nameless until they're like, 7. They can pick a name themselves.
