Crazy Awesome Legend

Just finished watching this classic anime. Lets talk about it.

I really enjoyed it it. I didn't think it was the best anime I've ever seen but it definitely had a lot going for it. Then it really gets awesome at around episode 90. Characters start getting stupid powerful and it becomes more like those classic DBZ episodes. Nice ending too.

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

I thought the ending arc was really meh, rushed. However the actual ending episode and such was great.

Wish I'd watched the series sooner watched it for the first time maybe 2 years ago, enjoyed it more than DBZ to be honest. It was great how many characters managed to remain relevant for more than a single arc, namely Kurama, Kuwabara and Hiei.
Of course being the main character Yusuke flies away up top of the power chart but the others still have their roles, even if only intellectual ones at times.

I loved the part where they were in the house with the psychics, Kurama's word game with that dude was superb.

Lot of people don't like that arc but I enjoyed it only a little bit less than the Dark Tournament one, Sensui was quite a cool villain and the whole "territory" power was interesting.

Did you watch it in English or Japanese? English dub is great and not too childish, they actually say words like a***** and stuff like that instead of being forced to say "you...you mean person!" instead.

I watched it in Japanese. Have to say I enjoyed the Sensui stuff the least. It felt like they were dragging every episode out as long as possible with tons of flashbacks and talking and needless scenes with Botan and stuff.

At least the tournament in the final episodes wasn't a bazillion episodes long like the first one was. Having said that, I do agree it ended too abruptly. I would have liked to have watched the final battles, even though by all accounts they weren't all that due to certain characters having no ki left after the semi finals. Another thing I liked about it was how friendly it was compared to the first. Reminded me of the otherworld tournament in dbz.

Yu Yu Hakusho is one of my favorite animes ever (my list is small). The anime did a good job at getting me to care about the characters. I think the ending scene is just great.

The last arc bored me so much that I haven't finished it. Some of it was really good, though.

Love Yu Yu Hakusho. More of a thinking man's Dragon Ball Z. A lot more strategy, checks and balances, crazy characters with more unique powers. It really sits well with me, thoroughly enjoyed it. Ranks right up there with the Dragon Ball Trilogy and Rave Master in my book.

Ah, Yu Yu Hakusho. I really must get back to that anime. It was pretty fun to watch. Definitely had similarities with DBZ as it went on.

YYH is probably the best shounen series out there IMO. Almost everything about the series was great. It's cast of characters were very likeable and theirs not really anyone that stands out as a bad character.

That being said though, I will admit I was pretty disappointed with the last arc and how everything turned out. It just seemed pretty lackluster in comparison to the other arcs and the ending for the arc (not the ending to the series) was rather mediocre. Sensui Arc was good and the story of the Arc was interesting but it seemed dragged out too much and there were moments were I was just like "blah" and whatnot. The first 2 Arcs were amazing and there was hardly anything I can say bad about it.

I would rate the Arcs like this. Dark Tournament Arc > Spirit Detective Arc > Sensui Arc > Three Kings Arc
