Is Akira Toriyama the "Stan Lee" of Dragonball?

What i mean is Stan Lee is a legend in the comic book world, the father of Fantastic Four, Spiderman, Captain America, Hulk, Thor, Galactus.

It seems Mr Lee is battling father time as he thinks Galactus is stronger than his other creation Living Tribunal.

@rmeas002 @More2History Probably Galactus.

Anyway, my point is Akira Toriyama has been saying and has done some weird things.

What if AT doesn't know what he's talking about anymore because his too old.

Can we trust what AT says?

Here's the deal with toriyama:

In the making of battle of gods, toriyama said he reread the manga and back into the groove of things. He's not completely clueless. It was also said that he got obsessed over all the small details in the dialogue in resurrection f so he does care a lot.

He says some weird things occasionally in interviews but he deserves a good amount of credit still

Yes usually he can be trusted

My Dear Melancholy,

Stan Lee is..sorta a bigger deal than Toriyama. Hope I'm not being a jerkish comic nerd but Stan Lee made multiple iconic series while Toriyama made two iconic series.

If Akira Toriyama was the Stan Lee of DBZ, he would've made a cameo appearance in Dragon Ball Evolution.

Toriyama probably doesn't even think about being the Stan Lee of Dragon Ball, let alone wanna be it.

"I am the bone of my sword."

Ever since BOG, Toriyama has said so many thing, many of which actually contradict what he said in the manga. For example his whole speel on Bibidi not creating Babidi but actually being some random creature Bibidi found. Or that Bibidi isn't actually Babidi's father he's his doppelganger. Despite the fact that the manga established Bibidi as Babidi's father.

In fact, Babidi calls him his father.

Quote:

Kaioshin: “…Yes…Next to be absorbed was the fat but kind and gentle Dai-Kaioshin….The Majin Boo that Bibidi created was evil itself, a failed creation that even Bibidi himself couldn’t handle, but by absorbing the Dai-Kaioshin, he somehow become controllable…. “

The manga literally established Boo as a creation of Bibidi. Yet for some reason AT contradicts this.

Essentially Babidi, who is Bibidi has no idea what Boo is (despite the fact that he and Bibdi are the same damn person) and that Boo was never created by Bibidi despite the fact that...look at the freaking quote people.

AT's throwing out random rage boosts Vegetas here and there. You think he honestly thought about Beerus when he first mentions Elder Kaioshin being trapped in the Z-Sword? He's literally making up things on the spot and its so blatant.

This is what i mean when i said akira toriyama is similar to stan lee as mr lee said galactus is probably is the strongest. Lee must of forget he helped create Living tribunal who in the comics is far superior to Galactus.

My main question was can we still trust Akira Toriyama? or better yet can we use his interviews as evidence?
