Why does people hate the idea that Dragonball GT follows after End of Z and FnF?

I hate the idea because it's unfair to compare the characters.

For example.

Manga:

Ultimate Gohan > Super Boo > SSJ3 Goku.

Anime (Toei):

SSJ3 Goku > Pure Boo > Ultimate Gohan > Super Boo.

Why? In the fillers, Toei created a false scenario where they had Goku say Ultimate Gohan was just as strong as the real Gohan, and in the animation Goku was keeping up with Gohan as a SSJ1 or SSJ2. It's obvious Toei wants Goku to be #1.

If that's not enough, in the anime, Toei had Kibito Kaioshin say Pure Boo was the strongest of all the Boo's.

So what makes it fair for Toei's characters to be compared to the Toriyama's?

Look, of course Toei has to insist that GT " really happened", because GT content constitutes a significant portion of their marketable goods - the show itself, the characters in the games etc.

Doesn't fricking mean GT actually did happen.

is ssjgss goku and vegeta proof that bog and fnf follows a different time line?

I'd say so, yeah. There are far too many discrepancies between these and GT.

GT doesn't only differ from the manga timeline-wise. It also differs in how its characters are so terribly... out of character. The dialogue feels like from a bad fanfic sometimes. Vegeta riding Goku's junk all the time or Goku trash-talking his opponents like he never did in the manga and acting almost unlikably self-righteous are just two things off the top of my head.

Not to mention that the real Goku always knew when to give up after he had given it his all, while the GT Goku never gave up even in the direst of odds - a behavior which would have resulted in his death had this been the manga. GT basically went around showing the viewer that Goku can survive blasts from opponents hundreds of times stronger just because he's fokking Goku. Part of the reason why canon Goku was such a likeable character was because he had his shortcomings and was not invincible, while GT Goku is almost a Gary Stu.

The crowning moment of disgrace as far as this is concerned is Goku shrugging off Omega Shenron's ki blasts without even flinching, he took them even better than Gogeta in fact - at that point I thought the makers just didn't care anymore. This made me actually loathe Goku instead of like him, as it portrayed him as being more special than he really is. Goku's appeal always came from his humbleness and approachableness, while that scene screamed aloofness.

Oh, and GT also insisted on making as many references to earlier non-canon material as it could, these actually oftentimes eclipsed the references to canon. Like how Goku used that sacred water thingy from the Garlic Junior saga to undo the damage done by Baby for example.

I agree with everyone else's reasoning and also because the Pilaf gang are old again. They should be teenagers at the start of GT.
Cooler is one of the few movie villains that can exist in the timeline. He can be there in the 3 year period before the Androids Saga.
