Going from science. There was bacteria or single celled organism that we came from. I get that. But over time we turnt into fish, reptiles, mammals, bugs, whateva spiders are, and amphibians. These animals have genders. Exactly where and how did the penis and vagina formed? How did we go from asexual to having sex? Just thought about it today when I asked my professor to see Asexual reproduction in person and spider eggs. Bonus question: Why do certain male insects-bugs die after sex and why do females sometime eat the male after sex? |

Gender is actually a man-made concept. I believe that "sex" is what you're referring to. Gender and sex are separate terms. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sex_and_gender_distinction As for the actual question, I'm not educated enough on matters of evolution to really answer it. |

A female will sometimes eat the male after sex to nourish herself and help the eggs along.

I can only guess with my limited understanding of how evolution works. I would assume that the penis and testicles didn't really come into being until land animals evolved. Before that one animal would lay the eggs and the other would fertilise them. Something that came into existence because this process became more advantageous to survival than self reproduction. As for the penis thing. Fertilising eggs outside of water kind of requires it. Or at least makes it a lot easier. But I still can't comprehend the process of how the penis came to exist. We know that it's more efficient on land but how and why did generations of animals decide to start humping each other instead of basically fapping onto their eggs? They would have had no penises. Something made females prefer males with larger and larger dongs. The question is what? Edited by Pelador, Apr 17 2015, 02:34 AM.

the funny thing about we came from a mere bacteria, is that why dont the spiders have spaceships? Why only the human race proceeds that far? I m not denying the probability of evolution. But I do have some problem about Me coming from a eucaryote Ontopic. I guess everybody is female at first, so thats why males have nipples or whatever. So this comes from the chromosome pairs I guess. Edited by Pointer, Apr 20 2015, 12:45 PM.

Why don't spiders have spaceships? They've never been forced by nature to adapt in a way which would lead to that. They are such efficient creatures that they were able to stay relatively the same for millions of years. Something lead to human ancestors walking upright. But walking upright meant they got too hot in the African climate. So they gradually lost their hair as an adaptation. Having less hair meant a cooler head which then allowed for the brain to grow larger without over heating. Obviously a larger brain meant we could become what we are today. |

I thought we were talking gender lol I think the man just developed genetics that made him more physically stronger and dominant than the female a long time ago and so when there were hunters and gatherers he was always the one meant to be the "provider" and "protector". I think the nature still stays true today. In most families or traditional families at least the kids are much more closer to the mom who is the "nurturer" and the dad is the one who's expected to go out and work and put food on the table and support his family financially. If an intruder came in the who's expected to protect the family with his life is the father. In male adolescence we are already selecting the alpha male subconsciously. That boy is usually the most athletic and tallest so he is the one every one wants to pick on their team first. Edit: some of my facts may be off but the general idea is their. Gender roles are pretty much biological and psychological. Edited by Return Of Imjustsaiyanbro, Apr 20 2015, 01:04 PM.

In answer to OP maybe it was more efficient to have split sexes because it would take a lot of energy for something to produce eggs, fertilize them and take care of them all while remaining nourished, hunting for food etc etc By splitting the sex the load is greatly lightened on both halves. |

Actually, it was during the development of land and private property that men became "stronger" and "more dominant." Because females were too busy taking care of children, they weren't able to take advantage of the land and property that was being developed, so men took hold of that, which lead to their dominance. The differences between men and women are purely biological, and those biological differences are due mostly to these developments. Today it is asinine to think that men are still superior to women. There's no reason for them to be. Aside from physical strength due to evolution in favor of males, there are no big differences between the male and female sex. The only reason men developed in a different way than women is because women have always been forced to tend children. Edited by Doggo Champion 2k17, Apr 20 2015, 01:08 PM.

A lot of it resides on the subconscious as well which is probably what developed through generations due to social expectations. |

I remember learning something like this in psychology class although I'm trying to jog my memory around the block. It's just like a psychological and sociological But let's say me and you are walking together (not as a couple obviously) and some attacker jumps at us (for the sake of this let's say he's unarmed) the reaction is that I'm supposed to handle this physical altercation. It is social conditioning that I'm supposed to protect you the female |

Social conditioning, yeah, but it's a very sexist one. You're right though. We're expected to meet certain criteria based upon our gender even though it's usually ridiculous. |
