You have to learn everything for the first time, and she learned this particular bit of information for the first time now. I don't see the big deal.

Especially at libraries at universities or schools, many people go there because you have to be quiet and because people study there, it's only logical to assume that is its purpose. You might not realize it but the library is a unique place. I can't think of any other place where you can just borrow something for free.

The only reference they have of it is "I'm going to the library", or variations of that, so it's understandable for them to see it just as a place to go.
