When did it become human nature to complain so much? I see it everywhere with movies, tv, animes and also religion, politics and human relations.

I just want to be positive all the time and spread that around!

I had to stop work to smile at your post.
 . Be positive 20/7. Brings peace to your mind and it's leads to an amazing life. You can complain but not about every single tiny thing. Just love life, laugh often, and be happy. Excellent post.

Though I do complain about internet creeps on YouTube , Twitter, and other places. Kinda...scares me and is just wrong.

4 hours of negativity. I'll take it.

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

If everyone was satisfied with their lives and achievements nothing would get done.

"We made the car, satisfied with that"

The world needs people who'll come out and say "No, it's not fast/efficient enough we need to do better"

If nobody complained about anything, how would anything improve? It's always been human nature, doesn't make sense for us to have got this far without the function.

"Should we improve on this?"

"No, your work is satisfactory" the world would stop.

I'd say people do it because it's easy, or it makes them feel better about whatever the situation is. Probably both.

Well there's a difference between complaining about trivial things and desiring improvement.

On the flip side, it's healthy to air your grievances. You can try to be positive all the time, but it won't work. That's not negativity, that's reality. I think it's healthier to be not optimistic or pessimistic, but instead realistic.

An optimist sees the glass as half full, a pessimist sees the glass as half empty; but a realist sees the glass as half way from where it needs to be. I say be aware of your negativity. Own it. Understand it! Then work from there.

Complaining is healthy. It's annoying, but it's healthy.

That makes sense. Sometimes complaints slip out, and it kind of makes me feel bad. I guess that's why I try to avoid it myself.

Because some things need to be said. Being idle all the time and pretending your happy isn't going to help much.

Being positive all the time is unhealthy and just makes people hate you. If you are never negative then you really aren't someone I want to be around, that's my opinion. That's just extremely odd.

I do agree people tend to complain over extremely trivial and stupid things all the time, but the attitude of being positive 24/7 is just as stupid.

Agree with this, and also with Queen. Not only is it healthy to air out your frustrations from time to time, but it can be satisfying as well. Of course I can only speak for myself here, but let's say you're with a group of people, and maybe you don't know them that well. And for whatever reason, you're the first to pipe up with "Man, I hate X." Then someone else in the room goes "Me too, insert additional comment explaining why I hate it." Boom. Instant connection, and it feels fantastic. To me, that feels better than liking the same things, though that's a plus as well.

just to clarify and elaborate for you guys, there's a difference between complaining and venting. what some of you are describing is venting, which tends to be really cathartic. well actually the research on that is kinda oiajqgi\oeof -- i remember coming across a couple a few yyears ago that suggested venting might be unhealthy at times. i still like to do it, anyway, so whatevs. actually now that i think about it i dont think those studies distinguished between venting and whining.

regarding complaints, i'm finding it hard to express what i want to word out, so i've gone and found this instead: https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/the-squeaky-wheel/201210/the-difference-between-complaining-and-whining. pretty much explains what ive just said a lot better.
