Most of us will agree that anime perverts are pretty funny. But if you take that same behaviour and apply it to a real life setting, when does it stop being so funny? Lets use Master Roshi as an example. I thought it was damn funny in Dragonball when he was under the table trying to look up people's skirts with a pair of chopsticks. But take that same scenario and place it in the real world, why does it suddenly become unfunny? Or does it? I personally think that if an elderly gentleman slipped under the kitchen table to try to get a peek up some skirts, it would be funny. On the other hand it probably wouldn't be for the women involved. How much of a pervert can people generally get away with? |

I literally just found out a guy I went to high school with can be classified as a pervert. To no surprise, the females that he harassed did not find it funny. As someone on the outside, I didn't find it funny. I find somethings to be acceptable as funny with cartoons that, if done in real life would be completely unacceptable. I wouldn't laugh at an old man under a table trying to look up women's skirts. |

I think there's a line to be crossed. If he's just going under the table and looking at their panties, it's not incredibly bad. If he's getting up close and personal and trying to sniff their parts, it's probably past the line. |

Is it more funny for older men to do it than young men? And the line which shouldn't be crossed seems a bit tricky to me. What is funny and what isn't? I know that touching is out of line. So is pantsing and skirt lifting. |

I always thought it was funny when pervy teachers at school would try to hit on other teachers. It wasn't so funny when they tried it on students of course. |

I've almost gotten into fights with a few perverts for harrassing random women. It's sad that a lot of them were sober. I usually don't give a s*** but I guess it's just a natural reaction when someone's clearly distressed |

All depends on the level of pervertedness and your own sense of humour, really. For instance, if it's just verbal, talking the game and so on then it can be quite amusing, especially if you can carry it right or pull it off. The mind-in-the-gutter type of dialogue can be quite amusing, even more so if that person is very quick-witted, take characters like Steve Stifler from American Pie or Jay from the Inbetweeners for example. (Or his dad, for that matter.) But when it gets to actual physical perving, as in beyond just some more racy phrases or even just hitting on someone casually, then that's when it crosses the line, I think it's all good if you are really that kind of person who acts and talks that way, but I see no justification for going beyond words and getting all touchy, a good/funny perv can see when they won't get anywhere and will likely leave it at that, perhaps with a good final statement. The bad ones get pushy and don't realise that no is a final answer. I also don't really find age to be a factor in it, really young kids can be perverts, as can very elderly people, they can be funny for different reasons and to different degrees, but everything has a limit. People often just don't let prime-aged people get away with it as much because at that age they should supposedly know better but let kids get away with it because they don't know better, or elderly people get away with it because they are old and "enjoying the last years of their life." |

I think it can be funny but it's only as funny as the girl/woman makes it. If she's frightened by it or horribly offended then it's not funny but if she's merely embarrassed then it's funny. If it annoys her so much she'd phone the police over it it's not much of a joke. So amongst friends mostly I'd say it's funny, if you're making physical contact that is like lifting up skirts. Doing it to random strangers is a bit rapey. If it's a young group of friends they'll probably end up experimenting at some point already if they haven't before. I think it's weirder for older people to do it really, in reality at least. They should know better than young people with hormones going everywhere who're at the time of their lives where most rut away like rabbits. When it's old people doing it to young people that is. If a 60 year old man is perving on a 16 year old girl(in the UK) just because she might be a few months over legal age doesn't mean it's not creepy all of a sudden, there's no magical "she's not a child any more" switch. So anyway, depends on context. If it's involving any physical contact it needs to...not exactly be consensual but something the women aren't frightened by and with verbal comments there's a fine line between being funny and sounding like a sexual predator.
