Best Scenes in all of Anime Compilation Thread

Only one video per post to keep the quality high. I'll start.

This is where Father goes nuts and tries to extract Greed. Greed finally becomes altruistic and realizes what he really wanted after that. Very powerful scene.

Link

Didn't embed the video in the post because it wasn't letting me start from the right part scene.

Just a note but some people'll prolly post spoilerific stuff, in which case, spoiler tags pls. Or just be vague about it.

Also someone's totally gonna post the end of Cowboy Bebop at some point or another, so I'm gonna beat the f***ers to it. I'm sorry, Noir, but I gotta carry that weight.

Don't click if you've not seen the series. Unless you for some reason don't care, in which case a) consider changing that mindset, b) the scene won't mean much to you in this case, c) consider changing that mindset.
Otherwise, click away. Sorry about that border and everything, but I couldn't find another video that had everything all the way up to the very end (anything else is unacceptable) that was in English/had English subs (there was one, but it made the sound high-pitched, which is way more annoying), so that'll have to do. As for the scene itself, all I can say is that it gives us great closure on Spike's character and it carries a deeper message as well. The entire episode is good in this regard and if this was a "Best Episodes..." thread, I'd have just posted that.

@Tachi, for future reference, try this:

A. Great thread idea Fiat Lux. Love it
B. Haha I'm proud of your choice Kyouks
C. As tasteful as ever Jet

For my first pick (the first one that popped in my head) I choose one of the opening bits from Akira. Putting the link instead of embedding for quality reasons.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zE7uaEhb8gs

I think Akira is a mostly misunderstood film. Most people appreciate it as a technical achievement, which it certainly is, but don't give the writing the proper credit it deserves. I think Otomo created a masterpiece back in 1988.

But to just focus on the scene I posted alone, Otomo's direction is masterful. This opening so perfectly depicts the world he has built in Neo-Tokyp in such a short period of time. The music is perfection in my opinion as well. It has such a brooding and stylish tone.

I'll cut it off there so I'm not wasting time because most people probably won't give a damn. If anyone wants to discuss the story/themes of Akira, I could talk about it for days since many seem to find it convoluted or confusing.

I love the first few scenes of Akira. The artwork involving the bike was the only thing I knew/saw about the movie before I picked it up, so I thought they were going to be racing bikes and stuff the whole time.

Bit of an understatement to say I was wrong there.

Fate/Zero ending scene. It makes a numerical argument against utilitarianism. Ultimately you'll lose more in the end even though it seems like otherwise when you can only focus on the greater good.

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

Posting two vids but of the same scene, one has high quality but it's shrunk down and the other is several episodes together...highest quality I could find though, it plays from the start of the scene.

Hunter x Hunter spoilers

This scene was great to me because it wasn't your stereotypical out of nowhere Shounen rage transformation. it had no build up akin to something like Super Saiyan but it followed the principles of the series.

Meaning that it wasn't just a bulls*** transformation so the main character could win he had to sacrifice his future to gain the power, he lost his way so much he was only motivated by revenge and paid a huge price for it.
Instead of succeeding and suffering no or minimal consequences like in most series.

Haha, what? Is this even a competition?

Mysterious YouTube link to obvious winner: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XebyKpo6A9s

A few personal honorable mentions though:

Fate Stay/Night - Gilgamesh's End:

As someone who has not seen any of the other Fate titles... I do not know if this scene would hold the same impact for someone who has. But for me personally... from the moment he lifts his hand until the moment he fades away... I consider that to be some of the most satisfactory moments in anime (as short as they may be).

Death Note - Kira vs L Climax:

The climax of the series for me. And at it's peak... at the moment of Light's expressive "reveal"... I don't think I had ever felt so bad for a fictional character as I did for L in that single moment.

There's got to be more... but none come to mind at the moment (or have already been posted here).

@Steve:
Love that scene... but I don't think it was all about revenge. Personally, it felt like it was equally, if not more so, about a self-loathing Gon had for himself... believing Kite's situation/death to be his own fault. He wasn't so much willing to give up his power for revenge... but likely considered it appropriate punishment for what he had caused.

If you haven't watched Hunter x Hunter (2011) yet, then you shouldn't watch the video below.

Personally one of the best scenes in the series. It made you feel happy and tear in the same time... That lovely feeling :p .

It's a shame this scene was ruined for me by another series I watched years earlier:

When I first watched this scene from Crush Gear Turbo... I burst out laughing (it was incredibly out of place). And sadly, it was the first thing that came to mind when I saw the above HxH scene for the first time.

Watched the first two episodes of that and dropped it. I assume you think it was really good though so maybe I should give it a try.

I could see why one wouldn't like the first season, but the second is a lot different.
