Why is the big bang theory allowed to talk crap about celebrities and other tv shows that is not even on the same network as CBS?

The big bang theory is on CBS network.

These are the tv shows, movies or famous people Sheldon's talks poo about-

* Heroes which is NBC
* Dare devil the movie with Ben affleck
* Val Kilmer because his fat
* They have star wars day and light savers.
* They do all that start trek language and hand signs
* Matrix the third movie.
* Ghostbusters 2
* there are many more.

From a legal perspective i understand you need the copyright holders permission either they agree for free or you pay a fee.

i.e The dark knight had to change the CNN logo. Seinfeld had to remove product labels of the cereal box, water bottle.

But the big bang theory makes fun of nearly everybody. I understand if the celebs are on the show like Stan Lee or Hawking, making fun of how fat Val Kilmer is differently bad for his career.

So why are they allowed to keep on making of nearly everybody while tv shows or movies have too pay a fee?

It's a comedy. And they aren't trashing other shows. They're usually supporting them.

A parody is a work that ridicules another, usually well-known work, by imitating it in a comic way. Judges understand that, by its nature, parody demands some taking from the original work being parodied. Unlike other forms of fair use, a fairly extensive use of the original work is permitted in a parody in order to “conjure up” the original.

Sweet and to the point lol. Fair use is what allows musicians to sample each others music.

Sheldon and Raj wasn't supporting Lost or Val Kilmar.

What about product placement? Are tv programs allowed to named famous brands such as nintendo, xbox, playstation?
