Nintendo aren't idiots. If you want to go down that route, everybody who buys a Nintendo product is an idiot for supporting them and their "heinous, idiotic " attitude. |

Well people who buy Nintendo products, know about their Youtube policy, and still upload Nintendo games and then get mad when they get taken down might be idiots. People who buy their games just for fun aren't affected by anything. |

Yes they are, they are idiots who are stuck in their old ways just like paramount, universal, warner bros, 20th century and interscope, sony music were stuck in the old days wanting us to purchase a cd or a dvd. For that, you'd still need a cd player or dvd player. Digital is the future. They spend hundreds of millions of dollars on lawyers fees and lobbying so they won't loose any profit, and totally disregard what the consumer want - digital music buying from itunes. Steve jobs proved them all wrong. In recent times, those companies are investing in what we consumers want, you go out and buy a bluray, now you get a digital copy free. |

Oh give me a break. This is complete and utter bias from page 1. How can you possibly judge a company based on stuff like this when you have no f***ing idea how it is? It's too easy to criticize. |

Could you explain why Nintendo's still doing fine? Customers still seem to be buying their products, enough for them to be estimating to make an annual profit; http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2015-01-28-pokemon-smash-bros-sales-help-nintendo-back-to-profit Not what they were hoping, but still pretty damn good figures. That money has to be coming from somewhere, so they're doing what a lot of consumers want. On your point about digital copies; that's a huuuuuuuuuuu~uuuuuuuuuge assumption there. A lot of people don't like digital, just look at the outrage when a game is digital-only. |

I said nintendo are idiots and greedy pigs like Scrooge McDuck, i didn't say they were going bankrupt. Alot of their profit comes from their brand name and association with classic names like Mario, Donkey Kong, pokemon and Zelda. Wii sports don't count. Fans just buy another Zelda game or Mario Kart whenever Nintendo release it, and they call Sony or Microsoft fans boys. |

Yeah, in this particular instance, they're being greedy and it's going to bite them in the a***. Every single company out there is greedy in some way, it shouldn't be news to anyone. Most people aren't going to stop supporting Nintendo because it simply doesn't impact them in any shape or form. Your point being? A heavy focus on first-party titles isn't bad at all. In fact, it's their biggest strength. Sony and Microsoft have some big first-party titles, but Nintendo's are iconic and have much more power in the industry. Come on now, more assumptions? The problem with the internet is that there are a lot of vocal minorities. Go anywhere and you'll see a group accusing others of being 'fanboys' or some other 'insult'. When it comes to casual gamers, though, that isn't the case at all. |

Mario is iconic because Nintendo saved the game industry in the 80's. In the 80's, over prized and poor quality games was destroying the game industry which destroyed consumer confidence (just as now with shhity sequels, over hyped games), not until Nintendo released the NES and along with Super Mario Bros, Zelda, Duck Hunt, which blew everybody away, only SEGA made a dent in Nintendo's market share. In 1994, the SNES released, luckily for them they had really good games such as Street Fighter, Mario and Yoshi, i forget the other games. Back then, Nintendo charged big licensing fees just to make games for their systems. Back then, but who wouldn't where the NES or SNES dominated the market share. But this isn't the 90's any more, as Sony and Xbox are in the picture with their cd and then dvd based systems. People give Sony shiit for their PS3, but Sony changed and now look at the PS4. But since Nintendo has Mario just like dragonball has Goku, fans go ask their mommy and daddy to buy them the new mario kart. Their prices are only $10-$15 off PS4 games prices. Lucky for Nintendo they have Mario Bros, Zelda and Smash Brother Brawl as exclusives, and nostalgic fans who loves them for forever. I also hate how Microsoft and EA conduct business, but i'm not willing to give Nintendo a pass. Just like the OP asked, we shouldn't give Nintendo a pass, their business ethics are horrible, just as ubisoft, ea and sony & microsoft. Nintendo Nintendo is the best Nintendo has the greatest console in history Nintendo are so smart they charge $10-$11 for fees "ex-president called the third party developers useless" Edited by Zoom, Apr 12 2015, 03:59 AM.

Nintendo is like Google. Nintendo is the God of what games are ment to be. You do not question Nintendo's actions. |
Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?! Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power. | |

Only thing that ever really bothered me about Nintendo is what they do to Pokemon. For instance. Diamond and Pearl release, people go about completing their pokedex, see empty slots after catching every possible pokemon they can. People start hearing news of two new legendary Pokemon called Darkrai and Cressilia. As it turns out, these pokemon were in the game from the day it released, just locked away. Wanna know how you get them? You gotta be at a certain exclusive event you have to pay for at a certain time and have their paths unlocked for you, and then you still have to catch them yourself despite buying the game they were already in then paying more to unlock them. Even better, they could be glitched to with the right abilities, so when Platinum came out, they completely fixed that up and had another event in order for you to get them. And this has been going on since the original Ruby/Sapphire days, I just don't agree with the fact that people let them get away with doing this in a game where the tag line is literally "CATCH THEM ALL!" and yet you can't even catch them all without for even more than just the game, but if hackers find any incomplete data on a disk for any other game and find out it's going to be finished and added as DLC? Outraged fanbases everywhere. As for taking youtuber's money just for making content containing their product, it's always been the company paying the content maker for product placement, I don't see that it's fair to take other people's money for them advertising you

Until people get bored of them and don't want to play almost the same game every couple of years. Do you really think Nintendo would still be here if it wasn't for children who don't understand these things being their target market? Look at teenagers+ with s*** like CoD, they've relatively recently started to realize it's the same old s*** every year. Still currently holding hope in the next game...then the next...etc. Eventually they'll move on unless CoD changes it up. The only reason that hasn't happened with Nintendo is because they cater to kids and anyone that isn't a kid probably grew up with Nintendo and can't let go of their nostalgia. Nintendo's dull formulaic game design bores the crap out of me but I still struggle not to get each new Pokémon game, though largely because I hope it's something different(which it never is of course) Can you imagine what would happen if people got bored of Nintendo's first party titles? They would have nothing left pretty much and they'd have nobody to turn to because they turn third party developers away. |

ROFL do you even know what you're talking about? 1) Profit comes from big names, figure why? Because they're good games. It's obvious they're gonna re-use IPs if they do well... c'mon dude. 2) LMAOOOOO Zelda and Mario Kart are games that are released once per (console) lifespan. That's because a lot of care goes into those games... they're also mostly different from their predecessors, which links into the IP thing from earlier. Each game has the same skeleton as the ones that it came before but it has different mechanics so that it feels fresh. Don't compare it to the **** Microsoft and Sony puts out yearly... please ROFLL |

And that is what I was talking about, first party. Sure their policy is bulls***, but everything else is talking about third party which is not something you deserve rather up to the individual company. |
