Considering that he's part of the Ginyu Force, is it reasonable to say that he could beat Vegeta? There's also something else here that bothers me, this quote, in particular: Chapter: 271 (DBZ 77), P12.2-4 Vegeta: “Listen, you dirty bastard…! This Ginyu Special-Squad that Freeza has called is about as…no, they could be even stronger than me! And there are five of them!! They’ll find your ball with their scouters and come to kill us all!!!” Kuririn: “N-no… It can’t be…” Vegeta: “Don’t you feel their power?!! There’s only one way!!! Make me immortal so I can fight them!!!” Nail: “He could be telling the truth… I do feel five large, evil powers…” Gurd never demonstrates any impressive, or even remotely impressive physical abilites: his movements look like a regular human and he's completely thrown for a loop by Gohan and Krillin. He won't even consider fighting them, instead he uses his ultimate ability. One more thing, too. What the hell is a tree supposed to do to a BP of over 10,000? |

The ultimate ability is broken as Hell. There's no indication to say that power can break through it, considering it's not simple telekinetic restraint. He could easily have frozen Vegeta with that and likely would have done so, due to having a grudge against him. As for the tree, maybe he locks down their ki with the technique as well? |

It seems his power was retconned, given Krillin and Vegeta's comments about him before the fight. I suppose it makes sense that a paralysis technique, you know, paralyzes you, but for some reason, I'd always imagined some sort of prison. If it is the case that it literally paralyzes you, it seems that, perhaps, it can be broken out of, given that Gohan and Krillin still had some control over their movements. Perhaps weaker opponents would have been completely frozen. Edited by FutureProtagonist, Mar 20 2015, 12:45 AM.

It's not specified how it works, I think it was mentioned to as "Paralysis Arts" so that means there's an entire branch of paralyzing attacks. As a kid, I just assumed it was a psychic attack on their nerves or something like that. Kind of like electricity, I suppose |
