Transformers always seemed like one of those stupid generic western ideas that worked mainly because of the children audience in the 80s. There was a cartoon of ninjas, that were teenagers, and also mutant. Oh, ant they were turtles. I liked that cartoon despite of how corny and silly it was. Same could be said for My Little Pony. Holy hell, at the very beginning this show offered kids some mature and actually pretty scary stuff. But the one thing I wanted to be introduced to was Transformers. Robot aliens with the ability to morph into various objects (Megatron into a gun, lol) and that casually crash on planet Earth. I've seen part of the G1 pilot and it entertained me for a while, but I couldn't watch it completely on any page because most videos were deleted. However I'm curious now because it seems like what I thought was at first stupid it isn't and I want to see Transformers at its best. Any suggestions? |
Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?! Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power. | |

Watch Transformers the Movie. The animated one from the 80s. Not the s***ty Michael Bay one. The reason is that in the tv show everyone is completely immune from damage. There's no threat and it makes it very boring. Whereas in the film, casualties are a plenty. |

Really? Are the characters well presented there? because if I need the G1 show to get to know the characters... Edited by Darker, Mar 15 2015, 11:44 PM.

I just did some quick research because I haven't watched it in a few years. I recommend watching the first series and then watching the film so that it has more of an impact when certain characters die. |

It's not that big of a spoiler for Optimus to die for me. I got spoiled a long time ago. |

It isn't just him. A bunch of robots die on both sides. |
