That saibaman showed his arrogance. He was stronger, slightly, but he chose to be cocky.

The thing was in a crater after taking an energy beam to the gut. In most cases people wouldn't be surprised if that was the end of it.

There was no reason Yamcha still had not improved his Kamehameha to the level Krillin had improved his, but he hadn't.

Krillin didn't even use the Kamehameha. He used a possibily stronger attack, went all out, and was temporarily worn out after using it.

Quote:

If he had amplified his blast as much as Kirllin for example doesn't, the saibaman is dead.

Most likely he didn't know how much of an amp was needed and wanted to conserve more energy. Then after seeing that the thing was a joke realized that it made no difference.

Quote:

And again he can sense pls but took his guard down and died for it.

And all of the other sensors themselves were surprised that it was still alive as well so I don't see why it's a knock on Yamcha. Using this logic Goku is also one of the cockiest fighters due dealing with a similar situation with Piccolo.

Quote:

He didn't bother to sense if the damn thing was alive after seeing one get up earlier from being knocked silly by Tien.

And? Most likely the same scenario would've happened if he went up close to check for a heartbeat (if they even had one). Not to mention Tien chopped his while Yamcha blasted his with a Kamehameha.

Quote:

He was too cocky and trying to show off to Vegeta when he asked for all of them to attack him at once and got killed for his own mix of arrogance and incompetence.

Because he outright outclassed one. The thing was no match for him. Hence why it resorted to a kamikaze move.

Frieza got beat and killed by someone stronger than him both times.

And what about Frieza deciding to fight with his legs against Base Goku? What about Frieza toying with Goku and waiting for him to get up and beg for mercy instead of finishing him off quickly? Look how well that turned out for him.

Quote:

Yamcha got shown up by someone he is superior to because he's Yamcha and brags a lot. Its a common thing with him dating back to the budokais or Babas fighters

The only time I recall him being cocky during the tournaments was against Tien and Kami, the former of which he was only really cocky towards due to Tien constantly pushing his buttons and latter of which wasn't taken seriously by anyone other than Goku and Piccolo as well as literally picking that disguise and fighting style to throw everyone off. And in both fights Yamcha sobered up, realized he was in a tough fight and resorted to his best move and only really lost due to being outclassed.

And during the Baba tournament he went decided to fight before Goku because he thought that Goku was their special weapon and wanted him to stay back until they got into trouble. He was confident at the start since that's what he as well as every fighter needs, Yuki (courage; one of the three aspects of ki). He still took the match seriously and knew that he was in trouble from the start since he couldn't see his opponent. He was then able to tag invisible man by hearing his movements until Baba started singing to throw him off. Then you have the Bulma-Roshi incident and Yamcha finishes the guy in a couple of panels.

Yamcha took Mummy-san seriously thinking that he'd have to rely on his speed to get a win and went for fast attacks right off the bat. The Mummy was just stronger and faster than Yamcha was period. No instance of cockiness/overconfidence here.

Not to mention all of the opponents that he lost to were also stronger than him just like Frieza was weaker to the people he lost to. Double standard much?

Frieza outright toys with his opponents mid-battle. To me that's much more cocky than assuming that a enemy is dead right after blasting it with an attack. I'm sticking with Yamcha since he's less likely to play games in this match.

The cocky one was the one that got beaten by Tenshinhan. The one that fought Yamcha was serious; he saw what happened to cocky little Vegeta Jr.

Yamcha has a huge edge in skill, while Freeza has a huge edge in durability... I think Freeza could take this. He can survive so often that Yamcha would probably get tired long before Freeza's kept down.

Huge edge? Frieza fought piccolo even hand to hand, and Yamcha can't do that.

2nd form Freeza at his max was faster (and possibly stronger) than weighted Piccolo. We never saw Piccolo fight without his weighted clothing on, so we don't know how well Freeza could have actually done.

Besides who says Yamcha can't fight Piccolo hand to hand if they had similar powers?

Yamcha could never fight equally with Goku while been on the disantvantage, at least as far as i'm concerned. And honestly Frieza has so many moves to beat Yamcha anyway.

What great attacks does Yamcha have? Spirit Ball, KHH, Wolf Fang Fist, possibly Solar Flare. Freeza has Death Beam, eye beams, Death Ball, Nova Strike, Death Saucer, that explosion attack he used on Goku, and telekinesis, the latter of which I don't think Yamcha has. That plus his durability would allow him to beat Yamcha after a good long fight. Because don't get me wrong, Yamcha would definitely not go down without a fight.
