@ Bex, I thought it was an interesting battle and wasn't trying to troll. Lazer, to answer your questiin, I see this between Saiyan and Namek. Like, if the Saiyans got strong enough to challenge Freeza's men and came to settle the score. I know battle powers won't add up perfectly so just use your imagination to fill in the blanks however you see fit. |

I don't really understand why them being more hot-headed would mean they lose :S Surely Zarbon's own narcissistic personality would act as an issue for him during the fight as well. There is arrogance on both sides. Cui and Dodoria also have misplaced confidence in their own abilities too, just as all the Saiyan's have. If they're on equal power as well, those character flaws don't really hold up to much. Outside Zarbon's transformation ability, what other power/abilities do any of Frieza's soldiers have that would help them? Cuz I can't really think of anything giving them much of an advantage. Raditz and Nappa are certainly the weak links on the Saiyan team but at equal power levels I don't see the Saiyans being squashed (to use a wrestling term). I wouldn't be surprised if Vegeta did get an erection while fighting Zarbon btw. He's a pretty man... Also @ Southern Gothic - I wasn't saying you're trolling. I'm just not really sure what this concept of equal power actually adds to the conversation. All it really does is remove the context that essentially forms the characters and takes away a lot of the arguments that can be made. |

Goku/Vegeta fight isn't even related to this topic. Its Saiyan Team vs Frieza Team Regardless, Vegeta had upper-hand till Goku used X3 Kaioken. Which is clearly different to this topic of equal PL. Not sure if ur even serious nagito. Compared to Saiyans like Goku, Gohan, F.Trunks, Veggie is the 1 with most anger-related failures. He keeps his cool till he keepa the game in his favor. Once its reversed, u see a maniac acting tough while getting ROFL stomped |

Bex, I didn't specify it in my first post. But I liked the idea of the Saiyans somehow getting strong enough to get some payback on these guys. And if they could overcome the gap and pose some kind of challange to Freeza's goons, who would win. That's all

No, you're acting as though he'd lose it as soon as he saw that Zarbon was as strong as him. The reason he lost his cool against Goku is because Goku outclassed him in power and made a fool out of him, despite him being a low-class warrior. The very basis of the freak-out was that Goku was stronger than him. Here, Zarbon is equal in strength to Vegeta, so Vegeta isn't going to get extremely angry during the fight. We see him topple Monster Zarbon with a negligible gap by actually using his head and thinking about ways of getting the upper hand, while Zarbon just rushes after him hoping to beat him down. Zarbon doesn't really show much skill in his fights; he got outclassed by Vegeta, then he beat Vegeta down with power, then he tried the same thing again just to get outsmarted. Doesn't really seem like Zarbon's set to be the next Mr. Miyagi, does it? Vegeta, on the other hand, is a pretty good strategist and would think his way around the fight instead of hoping to simply overpower his opponent. |

I believe you about the statement regarding Kewi. But jeez, at the same time I find that hard to believe anyway. We don't see him do anything except the old "look over there" trick. And man, that's some novice stuff right there. Then again, Vegeta did indeed look over there. So just maybe... |

2nd Veggie/Zarbon fight was heavily influenced by 2 aspects 1. Zarbon's time-limit due to Frieza's wrath You're incurring wrath of most powerful galactic tyrant & guess ur mindset. To get the job done fast. No BS around 2. Veggie's Zenkai Boost The dude got massive beatdown & guess what? Ur genetics helped while in middle of a fight, no clowns gonna power-up Guess u need films like: Fukatsu no Zarbon Fukatsu ni Dodoria & Fukatsu no Kiwi to show fighting capabilities of those guys as Toriyama's a.lazy writer. Gave Vegeta (a guy frm Saiyan-Eoz) many abilities but Frieza henchmens with screen-time less than 20 episodes gets none..Shame on you Toriyama... |

Ahh I got you now. So essentially if Nappa, Raditz and Vegeta had all trained up (and not been killed) prior to the initial encounter with Frieza's guys on Namek. Yeah I think my stance remains the same. Cui and Dodoria are nobody to write home about in regards to power, strategy or tactical skill. They also have significant character flaws such as cowardice on the part of Cui, stupidity on the part of Dodoria and both have misplaced confidence in their own ability. Zarbon is the only real power in that group and as Nagito just said, he never exhibited much skill in any of his fights either. A lot of Zarbon and Dodoria's reputation as Frieza's henchmen comes from the fact that they're just naturally more powerful than most other fighters most likely whereas someone like Vegeta, who whilst he is hot-headed has a lot of determination within him to be the best and to conquer all of his enemies/rivals. Even at the point where he defeated Cui he showed that he was willing to take on Frieza who was far and away more powerful than Vegeta ever was during the Namek saga. He never rushed into any of his fights there however. He normally calculated every move he made in order to take the Dragonballs from behind Frieza's back and take out his henchmen one at a time so that he wasn't ever outnumbered. He is very intelligent tactically and is proven to be a very competent fighter. Nappa and Raditz may not have quite the same level of discipline and tactical nouse as Vegeta but if they were on equal footing with Frieza's henchmen they wouldn't be squashed. The sheer fact that Frieza's henchmen represent the force that destroyed their home planet would probably be enough motivation for them to take the fight seriously. |

Given that Vegeta could sense ki at least at some level at this point, chances are he was just going along with Cui's little trick.
What, so Freeza's going to come to the fight when his timer runs out and kill Zarbon? Once he found Vegeta, Zarbon could relax, Freeza isn't going to count down to the minute. We see nothing of note in regards to the skill of Dodoria and Zarbon. We get implications for Cui, but Dodoria and Zarbon are just strong henchmen. Toriyama could've shown that they had some skill in their fights, but he didn't, so they're nothing notworthy skill-wise. |

As much as I'd like to see Vegeta and his saiyan brethren get revenge and show these guys they are the superior warriors, I'm going to have to give it to the Frieza henchmen. The only thing we have to go on is everyone saying Cui will beat Vegeta at equal powers. Cui beats Vegeta, Zarbon beats Raditz and Dodoria holds Nappa off long enough for the others to help finish him off. Frieza goons win IMO |

Cui can beat Vegeta at equal powers, if not through skill, through foul play. Then he'll assist one of his teammates and then they triple team the remaining Saiyan. And Vegeta just going with Cui's trick makes no sense, why would he actually look rather shocked and turn around? Surely it's more intimidating to just ignore his tricks and walk up to him? |

Did Vegeta learn how to sense energy between fighting Cui and fighting Dodoria? He's able to just fine when he's up against the latter, so unless he got some practice in between the two, it doesn't make sense that he'd fall for the trick. Regardless, Zarbon doesn't seem like the type of character to try something like that, so even if Vegeta is stupid in that regard, it doesn't factor into the fight. |

The thing about Oozaru transformations, I like to add that once a Saiyan begins this particularttransformation, they gain invulnerable defenses briefly during mid metamorphoses (see Vegeta attacking Gohan) So while Zarbon's may be quicker, the Saiyans will still get their dues out. |

His energy sensing wasn't perfect and he had a pathological fear of Freeza. Why wouldn't he whip around and check if Cui was talking real or not. Why would Zarbon go for Vegeta? At equal powers, Cui is more likely to go after Vegeta given that they are rivals. Another disadvantage for the saiyans is Raditz's tail, the Freeza goons must know about that weakness and at equal powers, it'll be a breeze to exploit. |
