Best DBZ Game there is. Just wish there was a storymode, but the battle mechanics aren't overly complicated like they tend to be these days, the graphics are great. Better than most DBZ games, and there's a s*** ton of characters |

Am I the only one that hates this game? The fighting is weird, it seems like the characters are made of bubblegum. One single smack and they either go flying or they back away a little. I only bought the game because of Hatchiyack, who is one of my all-time favourite DBZ baddies. By the way, unlocking him is the easiest thing ever. You just watch a short movie (that I believe you don't really need to fully watch it) and that's it. There's also... (Uuhhh) Ssj3 Broly. Looks kick-ass, but then I remember that he's BROLY, the character iI hate the most in the entire franchise for being so goddamn overrated. I'd say Vegeta looks kick-ass too, but I don't think the Ssj3 form fits him. To me this game was just what Budokai Tenkaichi 4 should've been. Better graphics, but that's it, and it wasn't even necessary. The effects on the attacks look pretty dumb. The models and the backgrounds are great, and I love the few touches they made with some characters, such as Janemba being able to turn himself into little pieces. The gameplay was horrid to me, and in the PS3 it was impossible to play with. If it wasn't because I enjoyed playing a bit as Hatchiyack, then I would hate this game more than Ultimate Tenkaichi. |
Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?! Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power. | |

I've never been a huge fan of the Raging Blast games cuz I find the combat clunky and the controls stiff plus they feel like soulless HD versions of BT3. |

I personally liked RB2. I had a lot of fun playing against others on xbox live. I enjoyed the combat mechanics as well as the other features. It had a pretty good roster and the only thing it could of used IMO is a proper story mode. It currently is my 3rd fav dbz game behind BT2 and BT3. |

It's one of the best ones because it feels like DBZ. The 2D ones feel more like MK than the fast, high flying action of Z |

Exactly, games like Budokai 1-3 for example do DBZ no justice for a fighting game. Games like RB series and BT series make you feel like you are controlling a dbz character in a dbz world. |

I couldn't disagree anymore. The first Budokai revolutionized DBZ games by proving DBZ games don't have to just slap a popular franchise name on it and hope it sells on order to succeed. It captured the spirit Dragon Ball with the authentic storytelling, bells and whistles, high production values, and atmospheric soundtrack along with having functional mechanics. Budokai 3 took it a step further along with doing the impossible by being a quality game regardless of it's license and having a combat system that's actually *gasp* "deep and rewarding". |

I played the demo of this game and I just hated it. The appeal of the BT series was completely lost and it felt like I was playing some second rate game. I really hope RB never gets revived in any sorta way. |

What exactly makes its combat so deep and rewarding? The fact that it neglects ultimates on some characters and they have to make do with Dragon Rush(which by the way is not rewarding at all) is not a good thing. Also, I mentioned the whole thing not feeling like DBZ, yeah. In Budokai 3, they stand around on the ground most of the fight and launch attacks that are mostly recycled animations, often some of them being very clunky. Has that ever happened in Z, have Goku and Vegeta just decided not to fly and instead to swing at each other in a manner that makes USSJ Trunks look like a speed demon? |

The game is really cool. I love the fighting and the music together. I'm going to start playing more soon. I just wish there were more characters. I could wish for a better story mode, but that usually doesn't happen anyway. So at least give more characters because that's not too much to ask for. |

Hyper Mode in general is rarely used in high-level play due to it's MAJOR drawbacks and the fact you can already do a decent amount of damage just by through combos alone which is much less risky yet more skillful. Also, RB2 is even slower and stiffer than Budokai 3 (slower and stiffer than an average fighting game actually), and you can fly anytime in the latter. Thirdly, I wasn't talking to you. I was talking to a guy who said Budokai did nothing for the franchise when Budokai is the series that got us outta the age of DBZ games almost always ranged from mediocre to pure s*** (like Final Bout) and is the reason the games are still being made. |

Higher level of play? I'm sure that's fine if you're the kind of person to max out every kind of wall combo in MK and chain grab in SSBB, but for the casual player who doesn't have the time nor patience to memorize that, hyper mode and ultimates are better than the combos Also, when do you fly more than a few inches off the ground in B3? For that matter, how is RB2 stiff? The animations are all fluid and nice, B3's animations are stiff in the sense that if Omega Shenron is kicking, he just kicks his leg up like he's a ballerina instead of bending his leg to actually kick. |

And I disagree with RB2's animation being nice and fluid. In fact, they're slow and poorly animated outside supers/ultimates. It's especially bad since you have to wait for said slow and poorly animated to finish in order to switch from one type of movement/attack to other. Even the first Budokai is better animated along with better controls and that game predates it by 8 years. Edited by DBZAOTA482, Feb 24 2015, 04:30 AM.
