What Sort of Athlete Would You Be?

If you were an athlete in any sport of your choosing what kind of athlete would you be?(barring any physical, mental ect... disadvantages you may have) and post any comparables if you can as well

i feel like if i played hockey i would be a two way defenseman, putting up decent points but always thinking of defense first
and paying the body a lot, a comparable i would think would be either ryan suter, niklas kronwall, or maybe shea weber
but with me putting up less points

if i played basketball i would be a defense first player while chipping in a bit on offense, comparables would be
joakim noah or tyson chandler, putting up 8-12 PPG but playing solid def, and getting some blocks

If I was a boxer then I'd be a middleweight and I would be an outside fighter and a counter puncher. I suppose the closest comparison would be Amir Khan.

If I was a footballer then I would be a centre forward like Lionel Messi only I would work a lot harder.

if i were a boxer, then i'd probably be a boxer-puncher. it's what i naturally go into when i spar anyway. i'll counterpunch a lot but i also try to throw in combinations and i'll fight up close if i see an opening. i guess it'd also depend on what weight class i'd decide to fight in. i could probably go anywhere from super welterweight/junior middleweight up to light heavyweight, but the higher up you go the bigger your opponents are and you'd be facing people who have a much longer reach than you and typically a lot more KO power.

cool thread btw

My Dear Melancholy,

I don't know a lot about sports except the ones my sister played. Which is track and Volleyball. In track, I'll fail horribly. I lack speed, refuse to run, long legs but no distance, boobs will get in the way, and to lazy. In volleyball I'll be the one to smack the ball but goes no where.

So I'll be a bench warmer athlete.

If I played football (American football), I would take positions of power running back, defensive lineman, or possibly quarterback. I want to hurt people, though I don't have the stamina to constantly be running like a wide receiver. I'm good in short bursts (which is what she said), and will power through all of your bulls***. I would also find it funny to be quarterback and just toss peasants off me as I wait for the right moment.

I'd be a glue guy like i am basketball. Jack of all trades master of none, defense first like Draymond Green of the warriors.

Probably something like Snooker because Football is too much physical exertion for my liking. Training everyday? nah nah.

Elite fielding Center Fielder with very good contact (Hit for average) and good OBP with little to no power. Basically a Derek Jeter as a CF with better defense.

In football I'd love to be a power back. I would want to destroy defenders with my strength and beat them with my power. On defense, a Cornerback. Whenever I play football with friends I always enjoy that the most. I love having to stick with a Wide Receiver and beating them feels great.

This is a great topic idea.

The only two sports I play are basketball and football. When I play basketball I like to play in the PG role. I enjoy having the ball in my hands, and I like to set other people up to score, and then chip in with points when I can.

For football, I usually like to play in Centre Midfield. Right in the thick of the action, chipping in defensively or in attack whenever needed. Again, I like to be on the ball, playing passes for other people, and making runs, all of which is needed from an all-action CM.

I was a pass first centreman in hockey. power play specialist lacked size and speed so I had to always be in the right spots.

Also I always enjoyed playing goalie when I was younger. I'm a bit shorter at 6'3" than the best keeper in the world, Manuel Neuer, but I'd love to be like him also.

yeah i would love playing special teams for hockey, i feel like thats where more of my points would come from, well on the PP
and well playing when it counts and the when its tough, blocking shots, boxing people out of the crease ect.. on the PK and in general, i love making huge hits like dion phaneuf and dustin byfuglien, would be a fast skater in general but not a very lateral skater not sure my hockey IQ would be best for offense anyway but great for defense, my shot would be good i guess, fairly accurate and decently hard, my passes would be average for the most part and yeah would play really gritty and be a workhorse, cause i know i can't be an offensive threat unless i have space and time like on the PP

and for basketball yeah i love playing the big man, power forward or small forward, hate center, playing in the post, getting tons
of rebounds and blocked shots, surprisingly im good at steals so another bonus, and my defense is pretty good, offense im hit or miss, mostly i would chip in a few points but sometimes i can really take the work load and put in work and put up decent amount of points but not often for sure

also thanks for those who saying they like the topic :)

I like playing PF the most in basketball. Unfortunately not tall enough to play it in consistently. But if I had a choice I'd be a PF with the right frame and body, ideally something how Tim Duncan plays.

I love playing in the post, even if I'm not particularly tall or strong...or skilled. It just interests me. I always practice post moves when I'm playing on my own.
