I completed the whole series throughout January until early February. This is definitely my favorite crime drama series of all time, and I considered to be the greatest of all time. It's just epic.

Who else is a fan of The Wire?

I most definitely recommend this show to any one on here, because you're missing out, big time. My favorite character would have to be Omar Little.

You are calm and reposed, let your beauty unfold

Holy crap, all of it in just over a month?! Very impressive!

I watched the first series late last year, and I found myself in the odd place I so often find myself with HBO shows where I really enjoyed the show and appreciated how above most of its contemporaries it is, but don't feel any rush to watch the rest. It took my about 3 years to watch all of Boardwalk Empire I had on DVD, same with Deadwood etc. I am meaning to watch series 2 but I'm put off by what I've been told about it shifting focus from the gangs in Baltimore to the docks, and only returns to the gangs later in the show. Can you tell me how well that works (without any spoilers of course)?

In Season 2, it mainly focused on what's going on in the docks (which features another gang), but don't worry the Barksdale Organization will still be around aswell. From Season 3 until Season 5, the focus shifts back to the African-American gangs. I don't spoil anything for you.
