Griever-Squall vs Rain (Unfinished) "You may be biting off more than you can chew Rain..." Herc said with his arms crossed, staring blankly at Rain.
"Don't be such a buzzkill man..." Rain said, returning Herc's gaze. Adamanton getting what he wanted.
"Your dimensions are far too different, I can't imagine your father didn't tell you about Ancient Gods in their own universe. These are cosmic powers on display here." Herc said as he brought up flashbacks of the Ancient Gods, rendering and destroying dimensions in single blows. Celestial bodies as well. "You still want to bite?"
"Sure, give me Griever." Rain responded with no visible fear on his face, a reminent of his confidence of his confidence years ago still remaining with him throughout the span of his adulthood to that day. Herc shaking his head at how thick-headed Rain could be sometimes, then a small smile forming as he admired Rain's abundant lack of self-preservation.
"Alright, you get him right after he fights Zueva. He's slightly tired so he may be somewhat lenient on you. Atleast more lenient than he was on Zueva." Herc opened a portal, the view was one of a currently flying Griever.
"Now that you mention it..."
"You're going to back out now?" Herc said with a small grin.
"No, I was going to say I should get something to drink before I go." Rain said as two orbs left his hand, the first one materialized into a cup, the second one formed into just enough water to fill the cup, the two met i nunison and completed their destiny. To provide a combo of sustenance for Rain, the cup disappearing afterwards. Rain went into the portal immediately later. Herc sighing.
"That kid either has the biggest ego in the multiverse or the biggest lack of sense. I guess training with Gods could do that, especially when you become their student. Even so, Griever was directly created by The Great Hyne. He has just as much skill in magic as Rain does, considering at one point that The Great Hyne was once a candidate for God of Realities, they're both bound to cause a hefty amount of destruction if things get out of hand.
"If you want Squall, he'll be somewhere on this Earth." Griever said as he began flying off into the distance, his energy signature untraceable for the mere ki sensers. Vegeta looking at the sky as it twinkled a small bit with the after-effect of Griever's trail.
"Who the hell was that?" Vegeta asked the barely conscious Gohan.
"I don't know, he said his name was Griever. I hope he remains good..." Gohan said as he too looked up at the sky, full of anxiety as to whether or not the Godly being would simply decide to wipe them out.
The Dark, Messy mud felt cold, the air was moist, the smell of rain still fresh in the air. Griever was sitting against a tree, feeling his control over Squall slowly slipping away. Zueva had been a relatively short but otherwise slightly fun fight. Nothing for him to get excited over however. He had fought much worse, and much more powerful beings. Of course Griever expected something to that degree. Standards do eventually lower at some point, but there was something odd about Zueva. She admitted Ultimecia was behind all her power...Something about the way her energy felt...or lack thereof was alien...something he hadn't felt before. Her ki was...different, like a small bit of Ultimecia's presence was within her.
Odd... Wasn't quite expecting that... Was Zueva the only one Ultimecia left her mark on? How did Ultimecia somehow put a curse on someone so far from the past...?
The remembrance of Ultimecia brought back again the memories of his brethren. But before he could go back into remembrance of the day he had fought Ultimecia, he was instead met with a portal opening in front of him. How grand it was, a thing of complete golden energy. One even Griever couldn't sense in all his godliness. Squinting to make out the figure that had come through. After the portal had closed and the opening in reality being sutured, he saw who it was and it somewhat baffled him. Not because he knew the man by name, but because he looked like he could be related to Squall himself.
"What in the world..." Griever voiced as he raised his eyebrows.
"Howdey, how ya doin' partner?" Rain said in a way that was not like that of a Southern hick, instead sounding like a person from the Mid-West saying it.
"Not too bad but... what is this? Have I been chosen by Hyne to die? Has fate run its course for me?" Griever asked inquisitively. Not quite sure what to make of this new being that had arrived. It didn't help that his energy was simply non-existent. Of a higher order, but one of familiarity. The more he stood in front of the man, the better he could get through the haze of whatever was blocking his ability to sense the man's energy. His energy was familiar to the Ancient Gods, he had somehow acquired a higher magic power. One only attainable through being made directly from Hyne or having somehow trained with it. But neither of those could be possible. As far as Griever knew, only Ancient Gods were created by Hyne, no one else. That only left somehow training with Hyne. If that were the case, then this man must have something unique to him.
"I don't think I'm the reaper so you should be fine, I think. Dun know though, I could choose at any moment to end you immediately." To this, Griever stood up. His control over Squall returning in its entirety to the level he had used against Zueva. As well as the power.
"Is that a threat or a promise?" Griever said as a smirk found its way onto his face. Squall's gunblade finding its way into his hands. Rain doing the same, but instead of pulling out just one Gunblade, he pulled out two. A duel wielding Gunblader. An oddity indeed since one would require immense strength to make each individual blade make an effective strike.
"How about both? Whatever gets you riled up more..." Rain said as he dropped low and dashed toward Griever. Griever retaliating with a simple movement of his hand, winds flying forward from it. Each individual wind striking its mark on Rain's clothing. Rain grimacing as the winds cut deep into his skin, blood already being drawn not a second into the battle. Rain deciding to retreat from his attack, disappearing and reappearing to the side of Griever. His gunblades low to the ground as he furrowed his brow. Trying to get a reading of Griever and what he planned to do.
"I see you are still able to use your magic well." Rain said as he returned to his standing stance. A cocky smile on his face.
"You're confident I see, what for?" Griever asked as he cracked his neck. His horns glistening their red colour and sticking out from his head. Pushing through the silvery-white hair he had.
"We've only just started, promise me you can keep up." Griever said as he dashed at Rain with his Lionheart Gunblade, taking one large slash at the one known as Rain but instead of making contact with the physical body... he hit what could only be described as a thick mist that was like punching through tar. Griever's attention immediately changed up to above him as Rain came down from the air with a downward slash that struck home. Griever wincing as a wound opened up down his back. Immediately reacting by swinging behind him, but was met with nothing more but thick mist. Griever grew smart quickly however, a shield of pure electricity surrounding him and expanding outward a small bit. Causing Rain to back off from his attack.
"What's with this glass cannon bulls***?" Griever asked, turning his attention to Rain. Sheathing Squall's Gunblade into its sheathe. Holding his hands out. Rain looking with a bit of surprise that he would be so confident in going against him unarmed, Rain then smiled. Sheathing his Gunblades as well. Griever smiling a bit now as he welcomed the open challenge. The two began circling each other hands out. The both of them then on cue then started charging at each other and locked each other up by the arms. Both at the same height and similar muscular structure; however, Rain seemed to have the advantage in raw strength. Beginning to overpower Griever and forcing him to his knee. Griever's orange aura with the red electricity began surging, pushing back Rain to a standstill and then forcing Rain to his knee. Rain's muscles strained as he began pushing Griever back to the middle. The both of them still had their smiles on their face as their knees began meeting each other. Smashing into one another and causing shockwaves to send out and shake the ground around them. Griever was the first after a few knee blows to start an offensive, shoving Rain away and throwing a spinning roundhouse which Rain ducked under. Rain retaliated with a left hook for the gut and a side kick that sent Griever skidding on the ground until he hopped back up on his feet. Using the ground for leverage with his foot he leapt forward back towards Rain. A double axehandle for Rain's head which connected but barely budged him, Rain responding by grabbing Griever by the belts and belly to belly suplexing him hard onto the ground. Capitalizing on the opportunity, Rain mounted Griever's chest and began raining blows onto his face. Each blow forcibly caving in Griever's face, the sound of bone breaking with each punch. Rain looking in confusion as every time he punched and caved in his face, it would simply regenerate and heal the instant after. Rain shaking his head as he leaped into the air, his arms at his sides. He threw both of them forward, two orbs materializing and then poofing into dust as a hail of ice shards shot out. Impaling Griever to the ground, another orb flew in front of Rain that poofed as well. A small jet of water spraying from Rain's hand that smacked a hole into Griever's midsection, exposing the ground underneath him. The water stopped once he had doused Griever in enough of it, an orb popped in front of Rain's right hand. Bolts of electricty now shooting and cracking as they made contact with the godly lightning rod. Each strike of lightning roasting Griever further and further and further, his body outlined and surrounded by the lightning arcs. Griever yelling as he powered through the impalement and electricity. Flying directly at Rain, using the magic fired on him to his advantage. Shooting the electricity coursing around his body out at Rain, bolts striking Rain in the shoulders and causing him to react violently with twists and quick turns. The bolts leaving singe marks on Rain's skin. Griever finished off the offensive by grabbing Rain by the legs and throwing him headfirst into the ground. Griever smirking as the wounds on his body healed as if nothing had happened.
"You can regenerate eh?" Rain said as he took off his blue jacket, revealing a white tee with holes in the shoulders.
"Yeah, it's almost absolute regeneration. Not many can beat me in a one on one battle, why you've decided you can I don't know why." Griever said as Rain started laughing.
"You're underestimating me Griever, I haven't even begun to try." Rain said as he began stretching his arms and legs. Pointing a thumb at himself.
"I still have alot more to show ya!" Just then, a new figure arrived to the battle. His presence very much similar to Griever's, the same fate as his too.
"I hope you two don't get too far ahead of yourselves... I still want to have some fun too." Griever's eyes widened as he looked to his left, seeing a very familiar face.
"Wrath..."
