Oh a game like this would be great. Bloody great! If they ever made one like this. What do you think the characters of DBZ fatalities would be? I think Goku enjoys killing but Vegeta is a different story. I'd love to see Vegeta or Android 17 do a fatality. Any ideas? |

An actual crossover would require enormous nerfing or haxing, if you mean DBZ fatalities, most of the hero characters would have s*** fatalities. I don't think it would be a good idea regardless, I already detest the 2D DBZ games because they restrict your freedom so much, Mortal Kombat does this even more so by making each blow heavy but slow. It works for a gritty series like Mortal Kombat, but DBZ should be more fluid and swift than these clunky 2D mechanics |

Feels weird imagining dbz characters with MK characters. I would rather them be with marvel DC or capcom |

DBZ VS MK would just never happen unless it was some Mugen fan game. The two series are just way too far apart for something like that to happen. Like Ssj3Vegito96 said, a DC/Marvel crossover would be much more feasible than something like that. |

Dragon Ball vs Mortal Kombat would be a better idea IMO. The abilities of DBZ and Mortal Kombat characters don't mesh due to a multitude of reasons, like flight for example. |

Yeah I see your point there. If it were fully 3D it'd be a different story. I meant to say Goku doesn't enjoy killing. |

They did MK vs DC Universe... if Sub Zero can go blow for blow with Superman and the Flash, there's no reason he couldn't do the same with Goku or Yamcha. That said, I don't think there's been a good MK game since... Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3? I think Dimps is a much better developer of fighting games than NetherRealm and I'd rather see them stay with the series. As for 2D vs 3D... there are benefits and drawbacks. A pure 2D game ala the old Butoden games allows very precise input commands and a focus on the actual combat rather than movement. The most complex fighting games with the highest skill ceilings are 2D fighters, like Street Fighter III or Mark of the Wolves or The King of Fighters series. A traditional 3D fighter ala the Budokai series allows much the same, but also allows the freedom to shift planes. The fighting itself still takes place on a 2D plane, but you have the ability to move between different planes to dodge and set up attacks. The most complex and well received 3D fighting series (Virtua Fighter, Dead or Alive, Tekken, SoulCalibur, Budokai) are set up in this manner for a reason. Free roaming 3D fighting ala the Tenkaichi series allows fighting that is much more similar to what we see in the anime, but as a result there is a great reduction in the complexity of the fighting mechanics. Much of your attention goes to positioning your character in 3D space and the fighting is as a result much less strategic. That's why I'm interested in Xenoverse. Dimps has proven beyond any doubt with their games (Budokai 1-3, Shin Budokai 1-2, Infinite World, Burst Limit) that they have a much better grasp on fighting mechanics than Spike (developers of the Tenkaichi/Raging Blast series+DBZ Kinect), so I'm interested to see how they adapt it to a free roaming 3D style. Dragon Ball vs DC would be a lot better than MK vs DB in my opinion, but Dragon Ball has enough characters and attacks and stage locations that a crossover isn't really necessary. If you do want a crossover, check out some of the Jump fighting games. |

Fighting mechanics don't matter if the game doesn't feel like DBZ. In DB, yeah, standing on the ground and doing the methodical style was a thing they did. But in DBZ, that s*** went out the window and alot of it went into positioning via agility and all sorts of other speedy stuff. MK vs DBZ would have to use the MK engine, as the MK characters would be horribly nerfed in a 3D space due to most lacking flight capabilities. And in the MK engine, the DBZ characters are all going to handle like USSJ Trunks, even Kabal and the Flash tend to go more so for very distinct blows that are clearly different from one another instead of a flowing attack. But never the less, an improvement over the other 2D DBZ games, at least in the MK engine they can give the characters different animations for their moves instead of recycling the same animation for physical attacks. |

MK9 is notorious for recycled animations... As for fighting mechanics versus the true DBZ feel, there's room for both ends of the spectrum. Something like BT3 has a great roster but as a result it's unbalanced; the fights feel more like DBZ but the mechanics aren't as deep. You don't have to pick, you can play both types and appreciate both types for different reasons. I wouldn't trade my copy of Burst Limit or Shin Butoden for any DBZ game, but that doesn't mean I'm going to throw away Raging Blast 2 or Tenkaich 3. |

The question would be which DBZ characters would appear on the game? And what would be the story? |
Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?! Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power. | |

That image should be Android 17's fatality. But I could say the story was a threat from the MKverse threatening to overtake the DBverse and the Z fighters have to partake in the Mortal Kombat tournament to save their world from Shao Kahn or Noob Saibot so they team up with Earthrealm fighters to rise to the top of the ladder and beat their threat and hopefully save DBverse. |
