Favorite: Dragonball Z: Attack of the Saiyans (DS)
Least Favorite: Dragonball Z: The Legacy of Goku (GBA)

I really wish they decided to make a sequel to Attack of the Saiyans, that game is a gem. Legacy of Goku on the other hand... Is not fun to play. At the start you are pathetically weak, you have a limit to flying throughout the whole game and the bosses are just horrid... A lot of unenjoyable things in the game. Thankfully they fixed it in Legacy of Goku 2.
I would love a sequel, which they teased at the end credits. <_<

Sucks that the Heroes games on 3DS are region locked. I'd love to play them.

Trust me, Brofist. Nothing is worse than Final Bout.

Thinking back at it maybe I hate Final Bout more. Battle of Z may suck dragon balls but at least there's a trace of substance and had potential. Final Bout is just... godawful. One of the worst I've ever played.
I just hate Final Bout so much. I mean I guess I couldn't expect the same thing from it that I did from Budokai 1 on the Playstation 2. But still this was Playstation, the same system where I was playing Tekken, and that was amazing so I don't know why they couldn't do that here.

For me it's Budokai 3, but Raging Blast 2 is a very close second for me... both was very enjoyable but to be Budokai 3 is the best DBZ game every made.

I do think Ultimate Tenkaichi, it was enjoyable to a degree but it gets old really fast and seriously lacked customization, along with it feeling very cheap too.

My favourite is Budokai 3. I like it because it has cool music, tight controls and the cell-shading is also pretty nice. It's so fast paced! You don't get much breathing room if at all.

Worst one is Final Bout. The only saving grace is the music which is godlike. The gameplay is garbage.

Favourite: Raging Blast

I got so hyped for the story mode and it delivered. The graphics were amazing (still think they're the best for the series to this day) and even though the gameplay was more, 'cinematic', I guess, there was still a little complexity there.

Least Favourite: I feel that saying DBZ Taiketsu is cheating here, so I'll just go ahead and say the original Legacy of Goku. Sky's post illustrated perfectly why it's such a bad game

Honourable mention to Dragonball Z : Goku Densetsu. Such a great game, but it fell into obscurity.

I haven't played them all, but Budokai 3 is definitely my fave, closely followed by Budokai Tenkaichi 3.

Least fave is Ultimate Tenkaichi due to the ability to spam the same rush and win every time; regardless of the difficulty on the game.

Yeah... to beat the rock, paper and scissors thing, you have to try to get behind your opponent and hope their Ki meter isn't charged up, but with how the AI acts, you're better off just going with the rock, paper and scissors aspect... so it really isn't worth it.

The only reason I still play it is because I had save files that became corrupt and I want to at least finish my three characters and get all the skills and attacks... which is very annoying.

Thought I'd come and offer my two cents. So least favourite and the best DB game ever? *Thinks a while*.

When it came to Dragon Ball Games, I was looking for what DB: Xenoverse *makes the air quotations gesture* is gonna give us. So basically flying around large cities, exploring all the cities and key locations in the universe and admittedly blowing them up in great aerial battles. Character Creation too, but that's more for the Role Play aspect. The closest that I think we've got to that was DBZ: Budokai 3 with Dragon Universe mode. I've probably spent a decent amount of time trying to unlock everything in Budokai 3 more than the others and I'll be honest Budokai 1 and 2, I do like them... just not as much as 3. 3 Spent a lot more effort into refining everything that was there already and I really admire the subtle differences to the styling of the game too. I was given it on lend by a friend at first, if I remember right. Still glad it's up there, though since the whole fighting game genre is against me, I'm not that good at it.

Sorry, slight tangent but I wanted to say where I'm coming from the Budokai series isn't where I started. But, I have the more fonder memories with it. So Budokai 3 is my favourite of the entirety, for now. This maybe replaced with Xenoverse, but I don't know yet.

Now *Coughs* least favourite... oh boy. Well, I've already glanced over a few posts here and have seen that people go and put Final Bout or Ultimate Battle 22 down. Slight spoiler, I started with one of these and this may make me weird, but Final Bout isn't my least favourite. This was the only one I grew up with as a kid. No, sadly I didn't know about the Butoden games until years after I got the internet, otherwise I probably WOULD have said Final Bout in a heartbeat. And since this is about the games I played, Ultimate Tenkaichi and the Kinect one are out. It would be Ultimate Battle 22, mostly down to the fact that back when I first played it, I wasn't a huge fan of 2D sprites. And the controls and the pacing, the attacks... even the auras made the sprites look bad. Final Bout I can show some care for but Ultimate Battle 22... no that's my worst. I detest that one.

Also I do want to give at least a special mention in favorites to Supersonic Warriors. To me that is an incredibly fun game that blends in the 2D and 3D perspective in a nice way. Not to mention all those What If scenarios and it ends up being a very fun game that you can play as many times as you want.

It's something that, if updated on stronger console than the GBA would make for a fantastic DBZ game. I could almost see it as a combination of both the Budokai and Tenkaichi genres. It was fun as heck playing it alone, imagine the possibilities of two players would be amazing.

But most importantly, its fun. It's wasn't complicated but it also wasn't simplistic. It had great controls, a decent cast (small by today's standard's for sure) as I mentioned a nice What If story that really got you into it.

I'm going to just rank the fighting games, having owned all of them ever released on a home system or handheld

These games are ones I consider to be legitimately great fighting games, and the peak of the series overall:
Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3 (PS2)
Dragon Ball Z Burst Limit (PS3/360)
Dragon Ball Z Shin Butoden (Saturn)
Super Dragon Ball Z (PS2/arcade)
Dragon Ball Kai Ultimate Butoden (DS)

There are what I consider "good" fighting games:
Dragon Ball Z Budokai (Gamecube/PS2)
Dragon Ball Z Super Butoden 2 (Super Famicom)
Dragon Ball Z Hyper Dimension (Super Famicom)
Dragon Ball Z Infinite World (PS2)
Dragon Ball Z Supersonic Warriors (GBA)
Dragon Ball Z Supersonic Warriors 2 (DS)
Dragon Ball Z Shin Budokai (PSP)
Dragon Ball Z Shin Budokai: Another Road (PSP)
Dragon Ball Z Buyu Retsuden (Genesis/Mega Drive)

These are what I consider "decent" games as fighting games go, but great in other aspects (ie, great singleplayer content, great presentation, great character rosters, great representation of the anime, etc):
Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3 (Wii/PS2)
Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 2 (Wii/PS2)
Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi (PS2)
Dragon Ball Z Tenkaichi Tag Team (PSP)
Dragon Ball Raging Blast (PS3/360)
Dragon Ball Raging Blast 2 (PS3/360)

These are decent fighting games that are lacking in single player content, or mediocre fighting games with decent single player:
Dragon Ball Z Super Butoden 3 (Super Famicom)
Dragon Ball Z Budokai 2 (Gamecube/PS2)
Dragon Ball Z Super Butoden (Super Famicom)
Dragon Ball Z: The Legend (Saturn/PS1)
Dragon Ball Z: The Greatest Son Goku Legend (PC-Engine)

And these are just plain bad fighting games:
Dragon Ball Z Ultimate Battle 22 (PS1)
Dragon Ball GT: Final Bout (PS1)
Dragon Ball Z Taiketsu (GBA)
Dragon Ball Z Ultimate Tenkaichi (PS3/360)
Dragon Ball Z Battle of Z (PS3/360/Vita)
Dragon Ball Z for Kinect (360)
Dragon Ball Evolution (PSP)

Overall favorite: Shin Butoden for Saturn
Overall worst: Ultimate Battle 22

I have a lot of faith in Xenoverse because it's from Dimps. They developed Budokai 1-3, Shin Budokai 1-2, Infinite World, Burst Limit, and Evolution. Evolution sucked but the rest of their games are very good as far as the core mechanics go.

DBZ: BT3 will always be one of the best games I've ever played on the Ps2.

Ultimate Tenkaichi, on the other hand, was one of the greatest disappointments in my gaming life!

Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?!

Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power.

My favorites are Buu's Fury & Legacy of Goku 2.
My favorite WILL be Xenoverse, I love the types of games where you level up.
Least favorite(s)? I haven't really ran into anything bad, maybe Budokai Tenkaichi 2, just because I had an overall bad experience with it. For example, the game froze during the saiyan saga, then after I got it fixed it froze again when loading the Piccolo vs Great Ape Gohan Fight. I kid you not, I kept trying to do the boss fight, had to restart like 5 times, didn't work. I also didn't like the fighting style after I started playing other dbz games (e.g. Raging Blast 2, which is another favorite of mine).
