Just wondering, do you guys think that if vegeta had gotten his wish for immortality on namek that he would have eventually defeated freeza? Would the immortality be "eternal life" where he could not die from natural causes or do you think it would be pure immortality like with garlic jr(non cannon) where all damage would be healed and his body regenerated.

No. He'd be Freeza's b*** for all eternity though. Once Freeza gets bored of beating his sorry corpse, he can toss Vegeta into space and let him float around forever

If that was the case, Vegeta would get Zenkais until he was able to turn Super Saiyan, or possibly even beat Freeza in Base,

Zenkais only work if a Saiyan survives an experience that would've killed him.

Since Vegeta would be immortal, no beating, however brutal, would be able to kill him.

Ergo, no zenkai.

So, Frieza would get an awesome Christmas gift if Vegeta wished for immortality: the ultimate punching bag which lasts forever
We Super Saiyans are in a league of our own.

Hmm, that's a good point. I wonder if his body would still recognize the pain though. Like say someone blasted through his chest, I wonder if his Saiyan cells would repair him to be stronger than before, kind of like Cooler in Movie 6. Unlikely, but if guess a possibility.

Remember, Vegeta at that point is near at Freeza level but not rival him yet. He stated that he cant beat him but soon enough he can sounds like a zenkai or a training to me.

I know it's not a discussion about where to find, but your link was directly to one of those manga sites. I think it's inappropriate, so avoid it in the future.

My Dear Melancholy,

Could Freeza just rip his head off or explode VEGETA like he did Krillin?

Or am I stupid?

If he's immortal, he'll survive it.

In fact, if he does the immortality trick, no more zenkais since he would never be near death. So yeah, depending on whether he regenerates or just can't die, he's either reduced to consciousless goo(can't regen) or becomes Freeza's eternal punching bag/flown into space

Depending on how immortality works, he could. From what I remember, Vegeta said something about fighting Freeza over and over again and getting zenkais until he was stronger (going by the Kai dub). If he can still get zenkais, then yeah, he would win eventually. It could take hundreds of years depending on how the situation plays out.

Vegeta will get a zenkai or train to get stronger as he stated it to himself.

It's also been stated that zenkai works after recovering from "serious" injuries. The rules behind the zenkai boost are loose at best, but I'm willing to believe he'll get stronger after just copping a brutal beating. But in any case, yeah vegeta would eventually be able to defeat freeza. Or if he couldn't, he could just catch freeza on his death bed when freeza becomes a bitter old fart and blamo! Horn boy goes down. Either way, freezas defeat would be inevitable

Vegeta is too cocky to not face Freeza head on. Even if he can get zenkais, he's only getting ONE at most before Freeza realizes and decides to fly him into space so he can sit there forever

I don't see why he wouldn't get zenkais if it works by increasing his power from damage. The whole near death thing is just an easier way of saying "massive damage to his cells and when they repair, they repair stronger so he can't suffer the same harm again". It's a biological defence mechanism, not some mystical thing where his body recognizes he nearly died, it'd recognize the damage that nearly caused his death. They aren't the same, there's a distinction to be made. Take Cell for example. When he blew himself up he took massive damage but he was not close to death at all because his body is designed to survive that. He still received his zenkai.

Freeza flying him into space and leaving him there is a good point though. Although technically Freeza could have done that to a mortal Goku to get rid of him and he didn't.
