This is something that's been going on and it's really pissing me off! This new stupid movement that's targeting gaming and having games pulled off store shelves, because they're ignorant and gaming is an easy target. People want to target violent games saying they cause violence and act like a kid can just walk into any store and buy any game they want, yet there's a rating system that prevents stuff like that from happening, and instead of attacking the Parents for buying the game for the kid and allowing them to play it, they attack the game and the company made by it and blame them for kids playing the games. It's the Parents fault for buying the game and letting them play it, not just that but the whole gaming causes violence is a complete load of crap. A study comes out at most every other year at the very least says gaming does not cause violence and there's more studies out there that says it doesn't cause violence than ones that says it does, and the ones that says gaming does ends up being discredited due to it being rigged and led by a bias opinion and found out to be lying about it too. I really wish people would quit following things just because it's popular and quit being so ignorant, crap like this is really hurting the Gaming Industry, sure it'll eventually go away but things are going to get far worse before it gets better. I needed to get that off my chest. How do you feel about this new movement that's attacking the Gaming Industry? Edit: I never even talked about the double standard with Gaming... the double standard is the Movies that objectify women and is violent are okay, but when a Game does the exact same thing it's not okay and needs to be taken off store shelves... it makes me sick and pisses me off with this bull crap and it needs to stop. It's nothing. A whopping two shops in Australia had GTA V taken down. That wouldn't put a dent in Rockstar's profits. I bet you never hear about the times where their campaigns fail either. Which I would imagine is most of the time. My advice is not to take notice of it and keep buying the games that you enjoy. |

But it keeps happening and it's just going to keep getting worse until people quit being ignorant and stop following what's popular. |

It happens now and again in isolated places and it's usually just one game. It's been happening since games were invented and it will always happen but it's never going to impact the industry in any meaningful way. Look at Death Race from 1976. Or Doom from the 1990s. I say let them pick on the single game that they've actually heard of. As long as they don't try to ban ALL games then they can't do any harm. |

The rating system exists for a reason... and useless parents will always look to blame other people/things for their own failings. MK9 was banned in Australia... and yet Cigarettes remain in stores. So we're allowed to kill ourselves and those around us... but we can't pretend to do the same to a computer generated person. |
