Toriyama's prime = Trunks's introduction. Right on. I agree with that. I like that. I thought of something similar yesterday. |

No, I meant that Trunks' introduction was when he was over the hill. Once time travelling, more Super Saiyans, more Super Saiyan forms, non-Namekian fusions, etc come into play it just devalues everything that happened before that point. As far as I'm concerned Future Trunks appearing signifies the end of "good" Dragon Ball. The Cell saga has some great moments but taken on the whole I'd put pre-Trunks Dragon Ball many orders of mangitude above post-Trunks Dragon Ball. |

I thought Battle of Gods was the worst film. Lol. IMO Toriyama's good days ended after Cell. If he had ended the series there like I think he should have, that would have been great. But no. He had to make the Boo saga. I don't hate the Boo saga, but damn, it was pretty weak compared to Saiyans, Cell, 23 Budokai, etc. |

The 2008 special was the worst alongside the new Bardock one. |

All the other movies are pretty much exactly the same as each other.

And they were all crap, weren't they? People hate the new ones because they're different. |

It hurts to write this so bad... . That's a bad generalization. I extremely dislike BoG because I don't like the characters, plot, or action. I'll could go over it mean. But that's beating a dead horse. Not to mention I loved 2008 special more than any DB flim besides BioBroly, Bojack, and Fusion Rebirth (This is DBZ WISE). I also thought EOB was cool. So please don't make generalizations unless you actually ask around. BoG in terms of tickets sales and reviews BOMBED in South Korea (which usually does good job promoting and anime usually do good buyrates). With good reasoning. I hate when people say "People only hate it cause it's different" or "People hate it because it's popular" or my favorite "People hate on it to be different". Have you asked these people? Or did a quick glance over some random internet site? I'll reply to Vegeta stuff later. I'm having a bit of pain right now. |

They're all pretty awful yeah. The villains are especially forgettable in every one and all vanquished by Goku except for Bojack, Janemba and Bio Broly.

The vast majority of the first 13 movies were carbon copies of the anime/manga. At least BoG brought forth a new story that had no intention to copy canon villains. |

Bojack Unbound, Fusion Reborn and History of Trunks (especially this one) were all pretty cool in my honest opinion. |

Yeah some were okay but the majority were just villains who were rubbish alternate versions of the cannon villains. Plus the majority ended with the spirit bomb and/or lend Goku your energy so he can save the day out of nowhere scenario. |

Apparently there's only something like 4 stories in all of fiction, so yeah, they're always going to be similar at least in narrative. What can change though is characters and it's their arcs and reaction to different situations that makes something interesting. BOG brought us an all mighty, powerful being, who is not just another guy who wants to 'destroy the universe' but a force of nature tasked with maintaining balance. A God who loses his s*** over pudding is funny to me and not unreasonable. This is a being who's only interaction is usually with his trainer, he sleeps a lot and has to destroy worlds without any concern of the morality behind exterminating species. He's not malicious but he's just so used to destroying to maintain balance that it just doesn't phase him. It's just his job. That's different. We got Goku and all of the other Z fighters losing. It's the end of the movie and they lost outright. That's never happened at the end of a movie/saga and it'll be interesting to see how their attitudes may be effected. We saw Vegeta let go of his pride to the point of utter humiliation for the sake of is family and friends. Before anyone says, blowing himself up and admitting (in is own head) that Goku is better than him is not the same thing. He tried to avert destruction through non violent means. He actually tried to avoid a fight. Also, people who say it was too jokey and ridiculous, do you guys not remember DragonBall? Oolong saved the world by wishing for some underwear. That was the very first arc. |
