Is that what sells in Japan? Some new ridiculous transformation? Goku and vegeta training..this movie should be a filler. You don't bring back an iconic villain like Freeza to throw him in the trash...I know I'm not alone in that. I was expecting a well executed plot..something interesting. A child could of wrote this story..but then again I might have outgrown the show. ..and yes I'm venting.
Just what were you expecting? I never put too much stock into the idea that this movie would end on a cliffhanger where Freeza won or got away. Yes, Freeza was ultimately humiliated, but he also reached Godku's level in a mere 4 months. It just goes to show why this guy was touted as the emperor of the Universe. And just what do you mean by well executed plot? Dragon Ball has never been all that tightly written.
This is 2015..a lot, if not most of the Dragon Ball fans are adults now. I was expecting a deeper story and a real threat. What is the point of a villain if he's not a threat? As a vegeta fan did this make you feel any redemption at all? The mighty Freeza returns stronger than ever..surely Vegeta would be a focus..surely vegeta would dig deep inside him to finally defeat the one he once feared and hated.

I won't even go into everything they could of done.. I'll just use that one simple point. If Akira Toriyama wanted to give us a fan service with Vegeta defeating Freeza and matching Goku. Then I say he did a mighty piss poor job.

I apologize for how this might come off to you.

So, no offense meant. But you sound so bitter, petty. This movies plot and villain don't appeal to you? Cool. I have no issue with that. But you're just complaining...and complaining, and then complaining some more.

Write a better plot then if you think the plot in this movie was so horrible. You're just focusing on negatives and likely missing anything positive you might take away from this movie by watching it.

We could all whine till we're blue in the face about wanting a new villain instead of Freeza. Fact is Leo. A new villain would make less sense than Freeza coming back. Fact man.

Freeza will always be relevant. Just accept that. If you don't like the character, or this movie. Don't watch it.

I'm just saying...so much complaining haha.

I don't know man. Can't please everyone.

I'm a die hard fan. And honestly I like the fact for frieza to come back. Maybe we will see more backstory when the movie doesn't have action and just filler. I like to see history of dbz

Going in to everything about Freeza and his past, it wouldn't be able to fit in just one movie. He's got more back story, and not everything was explained when Goku fought him or when he was introduced.

Freeza has a lot of history, more than any other villain in the anime. Buu might have close to as much, I think. But I doubt it.

Some people get butt hurt, but I get it man.. I know I'm complaining. I've said my 2 cents and hopefully it's out of my system. By the way I have no problem with the villain. The Namek saga was some of the best story and writing from Akira Toriyama.

Yeah. Cell was explained through his whole sagas. Buu was explained but it wasn't accurate. And frieza has not been really explained much. I want to see if he slain his whole race and that's why him and his dad are the only ones left. He then maybe took over his home planet. We will see

I can understand what Toriyama (or Toei) has done. Goku is the face of DragonBall and despite Vegeta's popularity in the West, I believe Goku is the fan favourite in Japan and - surprisingly to me - a lot of people are probably expecting/wanting 'business as usual' with Goku being the saviour. I still can't help but feel disappointed though at the moment (I'll know for sure when I see it).

The 4 months thing still seems unnecessarily short, especially since Freeza doesn't even learn to get rid of the weakness he had on Namek...he's really stupid for that.

Vegeta's ssjg stuff all happens off-screen - seems a bit anti-climactic.

Freeza is never a threat really - he doesn't surpass Goku, Vegeta, Whis or Beerus and Whis can undo any damage he does anyway.

I wanted more character development for Goku and Vegeta (their pride was a major theme of BOG) but they seem to go backwards.

I really wanted a reverse of Namek (and that's what was THOROUGHLY hinted at) where Vegeta saves Goku and is once again the most powerful Z fighter for once - not just him fighting a weakened Freeza for Goku to deliver the final blow anyway. Krillin could have provided Goku with a senzu after Sorbet's sneak attack and he could have dealt with Freeza. Vegeta didn't even need to be there.

No hilarious Goten and Trunks confusion for Freeza.
This film es more of Toei that Toriyama,

Toei: Akira-san, we want a Freezer, a destruction of the Earth, a final kamehameha, a new transformation and in the next film write what he pleases, and you can even destroy Gt...

This film is pure marketing for release Dragon Ball, I hope that the next will be better

We really can't confirm that. All we know is that Toriyama wrote this. Furthermore, Toriyama doesn't care about GT. Retconning it is not a concern of his.

I do not think a year ago Toriyama had in mind back to life Freezer, he said it was something he had never written for the manga....

I think Akira want is continue with the God´s history, freezer back is marketing.

But be positive, for the first time since the beginning of Androids saga, Vegeta is on the same level of power that Goku. Same transformation, the same level of power, without machines or rays.

Something has changed. I'm only looking forward to this movie because it's more DBZ. I just...don't care what actually happens in it anymore. I'm so far gone that it'll be disappointing regardless.

Ahhh come on. Some of you guys are so depressing. You shouldn't have expected a good plot. When do dbz movies have well thought out stories? The only one imo was wrath of the dragon.

Just enjoy the dam movie for what it is. Dbz movies action packed brawls that are fun to watch. That's it
