Ja, if Freeza was stronger, why was it noteworthy to point out that he finally landed a direct hit to Goku's face that was fruitless?

Golden Freeza > MSSJG Goku, but his stamina keeps him from holding the advantage for very long. 'Course, I'm probably interpreting it incorrectly, but

1. Frieza is the one losing the battle. Shortly after, if I recall correctly, they point out that Frieza lands a blow on Goku and it does nothing.

2. Goku was being soft and was essentially advising Frieza to stop the fight before he dies again.
In that case, Freeza's more pathetic than I thought and Goku's officially the biggest idiot in the history of the Universe.

''You got this strong in four months while it took me years? Quit while you're ahead.'' What, he'd let him leave and get even stronger just to come back and kill all of them?

Why not? Both Goku and Vegeta are presented as morons in the synopsis

True, but this is on a completely different level. He's pretty much accepting the death of him and his loved ones in a few months' time.

That's so true it hurts. Goku and Vegeta have turned into children in this movie. Heck, they're at daycare when we first see them, and Whis is the caretaker.

It goes back to what Whis said. Goku gets cocky/is too soft.

Goku just wants a challenge. That's his life. It doesn't make him an idiot, per se.

It makes him naive, of course, but he should've learned from the first time he let Freeza go that it isn't a good idea.

It does. Wanting a challenge is one thing, but letting the guy who went from < Namek SSJ Goku to comparable to MSSJG Goku go is completely and utterly insane, to the point where it's even counter-productive to his desire.

He admires Frieza for his abilities, but challenges himself to be even better than his opponent.

Naive, stupid, whatever. It is admirable. The guy is limitless because of his attitude.

How is it admirable? For all he knows, Freeza could train for another month and be on an entirely different level, one that he wouldn't be able to reach in the same amount of time. It's idiotic and downright crazy, and him wanting to try and be better than Freeza by letting him go and train isn't good in any sense of the word.

It's incredible how the two biggest douches in DBZ are also the main characters.

They're Saiyans. It's in their nature.

So, it's in their nature to endanger the entire Universe just so they can have a good fight? Both Vegeta and Goku have shown thar they're capable of putting that aside in order to save the Earth and the people they care about; no reason they can't do that now.

Vegeta was not the one that was going soft on Frieza, nigglett. That was typical Goku. Vegeta outright states that Goku is his only concern.

Goku is special to him. :'(
