I wish people would stop saying "GT and the movies don't count", they don't count towards canon, no, but they do count towards the tally of how many times I've seen everyone fight the villain, get bested easily like fodder for Goku to then get some power boost/deus ex machina to come in for the win. I mean GT and the movies are especially laughable with it. Whether they are canon or not, we've seen it all before again and again and again and again. I'm not saying I won't enjoy it but The whole "Goku hardly ever wins" argument is bollocks.

Who cares what Goku from movie 13 achieved? That's Toei's version of Goku.

Remember movie 5 Goku? Toei portrayed him as caring loving father, he worries about the birds... please!

There is a difference between Toriyama's Goku and Toei's Goku. Even in Boo arc is apparent where in the filler episodes, we see Goku fight Ultimate Gohan in SSJ1 or SSJ2 and actually putting up a decent fight. Also remember SSJ2 Goku fighting with Pure Boo?

^ Obviously you agree that Ultimate Gohan is > SSJ3 Goku in the manga.

So who cares what logic Toei uses. As I've said, nearly all materials post-manga can be consider as a cash grab, no different with Battle of Gods and no different with Fukkatsu.

What? I never said Goku hardly wins, I said he lost a fair share as well. For a main character to loose as many as he did, other anime's don't go this route. It's just bad business.

Goku lost to Master Roshi and Tenshinhan in the tournament. = lost.
He won against King Piccolo. = win.
He won against Piccolo. = win.
He lost to Raditz. = lost.
He beats Nappa. = win.
He defeats Vegeta, but needs the help from his friends to defeat Ape Vegeta. = win*
He defeats the Ginyu force. = win.
He lost to Freeza. = lost.
He won against Freeza using his SSJ transformation. = win.
Trunks kills Freeza.
He lost against Cell. = lost.
He admits defeat against Super Boo = lost.
He admits he can kill Fat Boo = win.

Do you want to count the win/loose record?

A little off the beaten path, but what do people not like about the whole blue hair thing?

I really hope Toriyama at least stops at blue hair... he did said there shouldn't be anymore super saiyan levels.

My actual thoughts... I like it, it's better than the red in my opinion.

Critics may just be weary of the different hair colours SSJ is bringing about. For the longest time it was just different versions of golden hair. In the time since DBZ we've seen golden apes, black haired SSJs, Red-Orangish haired SSJs, Red haired SSJs, and now blue haired SSJs.

Not saying I'm against it, I somewhat like all these different colours.

Also, I think I'm one of a few that dislike Gohan's new look because it just doesn't look like Gohan anymore. AT somehow managed to make Gohan look like Yamcha.

It's another color pallete transformation and it looks like a slushee. It's more suited for an ice cream mascot

I think people are just used to the golden transformation after all this time. It's just a little strange to see the same thing...but blue.

I'm not against it, I just preferred the idea of the ssjg form being different for each individual, and in that way, different from the original ssj where everybody got the same transformation.

Blue suits Vegeta - his clothes are blue, his attitude being reserved and seemingly cold suits blue.

Goku suits the fiery red - his clothes are orange, he's warm and positive.

I'll wait until I see the forms though before I give my final verdict.

Not that I think Vegeta's SSG form shouldn't be blue. It being blue is a perfect contrast to how Goku's SSG form is red. I dislike the shade of blue in the leaked images of those action figures, though. This shade of blue would have been much better:

I'm just against the whole Super Saiyan God design (and concept) altogether. It just looks bad fan-made photoshops from the early 2000s.

But a pallet swap makes sense in this case. This "Saiyajin beyond God" business is just what happens when you turn SSJ after getting a better understand of SSJ God itself. Really this isn't a new form at all in traditional sense.

The thing is that when I think of some badass God, I think of some sort of Eldritch Badass creature, like Chakravartin

I get your point that the idea is to convey ki power instead of brute strength, but it still looks too meek and doesn't make up for it in actions of badassery. Against Beers, it was wasted and we know that Freeza hax is superior to it. Basically, both god modes don't do cool things nor do they look cool.

Just my opinion though. And no, turning Goku into some sort of monstrosity isn't the answer either. I don't want him to look like Baby Vegeta or anything

I see some Asura's Wrath in that gif. Approved.

I like the blue, because of the flame connotations, blue is a focused, powerful flame, only step up could be white. Also it looks pretty damn cool, whereas in other forms it looked like they were just surrounded by energy, those toys make their hair and eyes actually look like they ARE energy, which I think is awesome, as if their power is so immense that it actually radiates from their body instead of around it. The original SSG looked too dull for that but the bright, almost glowing blue is perfect.

I just wanted to see Goten and Trunks, really. Gohan started to look a bit older around 10 years old, and Goten and Trunks were about 11 in the last one, this is a little bit on from that so I wanted to see them finally develop a little closer to their EOZ designs, or whatever new thing Toriyama has planned.
In these eyes of mine

The problem with the star analogy is that it makes the red SSJG to be absolute trash. Red stars don't emit as much energy as yellow stars, they're just bigger. Because of this, the whole thing is out of order. Unless you're saying that this only refers to flames, but I have never seen a red fire.

Are you saying white fire is hotter than blue fire, or are you saying white hair would look better? If you're saying white fire is hotter, you'd be wrong.

Not even that works. Yellow fire is hotter than red fire. Red giants are hotter than the sun in particular according to Google, though. Not sure how accurate that is.
