I don't think you understand what sequel hyping is. Sequel hyping is when a film is tossed out just for the sake of setting up a sequel. It's a complaint people had with The Amazing Spider-Man 2, that its end goal was to set up a sequel and it devoted a lot of time from the plot to it.

That's a sequel hype movie, where its basing itself on the idea of set-up.

And if Goku comes out in the end, it would make Vegeta's hypothetical victory over Freeza rather pointless then, wouldn't it?
Oh man I would hate for the ending to be like amazing Spider-Man 2. That sucked donkey s***

I liked TASM 2, but sequel baiting is just not fun at all. If this movie is basically a giant filler episode to set up some completely unrelated villain, that would be angering.

Do we get any sort of indication that this film is doing that? Battle of Gods did it, but I don't recall seeing anything that even remotely suggested that this is doing it.

No one is saying it will be, I only brought up sequel bait in reference to an earlier comment about it being used as a springboard.

Tasm 2? I think Gwen dying was huge. Now the sinister 6 tease yes that was in bad taste after that. I think they should have did like other marvel properties and waited to after the credits and ran a him confronting the sinister 6 clip for 3 then

i dont think we should expect any dramatic content in the movies, none of the dbz movies ever had any real story to them lol, there are more less just for fun, theses movies included, its not a real series of episodes for characters to develop or any crazy stories with many twists

I'm just finding about this movie now (I know, I know, I've been living under a rock when it comes to the DBZ universe), and I'm still trying to catch up on everything, but I just gotta say... are we actually happy as DBZ's fanbase that they're bringing Frieza back with yet another transformation? Is this something we actually wanted?
Obviously I can't speak for everybody, but I'm just beyond disappointed to find out that "Golden Frieza" is now a thing.
I love Frieza and all, but he's about the last thing I wanted for a new DBZ movie. We've had more than enough Frieza throughout the series and I just find it really disheartening that we're getting Frieza yet again as the villain of a new DBZ movie when we could have had an exciting, brand new character that would bring a different dynamic to the series and add something actually new to the table. It also confirms the idea that the team behind DBZ's latest efforts isn't trying to expand the franchise by any means, just capitalizing on its popularity and making as much money as possible.

That being said, I'm glad they're bringing Beerus and Whis back because I really liked them on the last movie and was intrigued to find out more about them, particularly Whis.

His name is Bills.
"Beerus, also known as the God of Destruction Beerus, is the main antagonist in the movie Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods. A powerful, confident, and downright obsessive hothead, he is the God of Destruction within the Seventh Universe and, as such, his occupation is to maintain balance by destroying planets."

^ That's what I'm getting from DBZ's wiki.

His name is irrelevant though. I would sincerely like to know if people were happy to find out that Frieza was going to be the "new" villain. Just to see where the general consensus lies.

Yes I'm happy Frieza is back and might reclaim his spot as one of the strongest villains ever. It's what the character deserves after all of the disrespect he had endured in the series as well as in movies.
