It has been announced that Toy Story 4 will be made. Set to be directed by John Lassiter, returning from Toy Story 3, this movie will be released in cinemas in 2017.

What's your thoughts on this?

I love the franchise but I'd prefer they didn't. Toy Story 3 had a brilliant ending and I'd rather they left it there.

Although I agree, I think they left it open for another movie. I'm excited to see Rashida Jones be a writer on this, should be funny.

No, just no.

Pixar sequels, prequels, and spinoffs have been a bit over saturated lately. Within the last 5 years there's been Toy Story 3, Cars 2, Monsters University, and the 2 Planes' films. And before this Cars 3 had been confirmed! I want to see more original films.

Also, Toy Story 3's ending was fine. The series doesn't need to be expanded upon in another movie.

I know it'll probably be good, but I don't like that they feel Toy story needs a 4th movie.

The same thing happens with several beloved franchises: people don't know when to end it.

Few Examples off the top of my head:

Look at the Terminator III: Rise of the Machines -- Terminator II was a great ending
Look at Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull -- The trilogy needed no continuation

Toy Story 3 ended the trilogy very well. Not to mention, every movie in that trilogy is great.

We Super Saiyans are in a league of our own.

I think the series went downhill after 2. 3 & those specials were garbage IMO.

That's an unpopular opinion for sure, considering the critical acclaim 3 got :o

My Dear Melancholy,

Toy Story 3 had my favorite ending ever. I cried. Interesting to see the plot though.

I'm not gonna convince you to like it, because I know it won't end well. Otherwise, I don't care enough :p

Well I never went much on two and that's a lot of people's favourite. The game was fantastic however.

Although I still think Toy Story 3 was great, I can understand why some people don't think so.

In many respects, it is kind of like Toy Story 2:

-- Lotso is the villain because he was abandoned/separated from his kid ~ Just Like Prospector Pete
-- The toys think that Andy has outgrown them ~ Just like in Toy Story 2 when Pete tells Woody that this will happen and when Jessie's kid outgrew her
-- Buzz is reprogrammed by Lotso ~ In Toy Story 2, they have a Buzz Impostor

You gotta love that scene when they face the fire though.
We Super Saiyans are in a league of our own.
