DBZ's Solar System

Super Saiyan among Super Saiyans

In Akira's DBZ world, many things are different from our world. Animals can talk, fighters can shoot ki blasts and move extremely quickly, a dog is president, technological civilizations and dinosaurs coexist, etc.

My point is the following: Is there anything that indicates that the size of DBZ's version of Earth's solar system is significantly smaller than our own?

If it is smaller (would have to be significantly so), then SPC's statement about being able to destroy the solar system might have more credulity.

Thoughts?
We Super Saiyans are in a league of our own.

I don't recall if it is filler or not, but, in the anime, Popo and Bulma travel to Jupiter. This is done to show how quickly the ship travels.

What if AT's solar system is smaller than ours?

I don't think it is smaller, there is no indication is is smaller. I think Toriyama writing Cell as a solar sustem buster was because he forgot how hard it is to actually do it and just wanted to show how strong Cell was.

In any case i think Toriyama never planned for the DBZ solar system to be smaller than our own, rather he miscalculated a bit.

It is not filler.

I don't think there's any indication that it would be smaller or larger. I think it's safe to assume it's the same size.

Some Daiz sketch entry seems to imply the universe is only around 10 million miles in circumference. The moon also seems fairly close in the manga, and apparently Boss Rabbit could breathe on the moon (often interpreted as a gag scene).

What goes against all this is that Toriyama said that the moon is the same distance from Earth as it is in the real life. It was kinda candid like "sure, why not". Seems kinda fishy how he knew exact the distance off the top of his head TBH.

Personally I think he drew it to be much smaller in the manga with only 4 galaxies and forgot later on.

We all honestly are putting this much faith in art major astro physicics? It's a solar system, it's big enough for Earth, the sun and all the other planets. That's it.

The majority of people fail to accurately envision the enormity of, and vast distances between, objects in space. It seems to me that Toriyama has done that here, unintentionally resulting in a "small" Universe.

I just assume Snake Way acts as a sort of worm hole. The universe is nowhere near a 10,000,000 mile radius as far as I'm concerned.

It's obviously not drawn to scale.
