I think Toriyama was thinking of a very simplistic version of a solar system ~ a group of planets -- you know, how in elementary school you are taught that our Milky Way Solar System is just the 8 planets and Pluto.

From that viewpoint, the solar system is relatively small. I definitely think Cell can destroy that.

However, solar systems are extremely huge in reality. Albeit powerful, Cell's KHH would dissipate before destroying an entire actual solar system. So, overall, no I don't think so. I think Toriyama was referring to a simplistic version of a solar system.

Do you think he can destroy the Sun?

1st Form Frieza can destroy a planet with ease. Cell is extremely more powerful. So yes, I think Cell can blow up the sun. IIRC some outlying planets don't need the Sun to survive (Neptune maybe for instance). So if my recollection is correct, technically the whole solar system wouldn't be destroyed.

Destroying the sun itself even at Cell's level of power would be an unimaginable feat, though if you meant like destroying the core of the sun a lot more reasonable. If you meant shooting off a blast somewhere in space and having the entire explosion reach out to encompass the entire solar system, you're out of your mind. Nobody in the series, even unhinged Kid Boo has shown that level of destruction.

Now if you meant let's take the mass of the solar system, the sun, planets, etc and put them in one spot, that's also a lot more reasonable. Take out the space and distance between them. Afterall the sun is 99% of the solar system's mass anyways.

It's insane to think that Cell's going to shoot off his KHH somewhere and the blast radius is going to expand and take out the entire solar system in one go.

DB world is different than our world. So in Toriyama world, Cell can destroy it. Uncontradict statement = fact.

If he blow up the sun with that KHH the sun will definitely made the job done

I don't think he can expand his blast that much. It's exactly like what cell said. He has the power gathered to destroy it. I don't think he can spread the blast across the solar system though. Sounds a bit too crazy. Beerus(and I guess maybe ssjg goku) is the first to be able to spread his blast across the solar system

It's based on our world though, seeing how Jupiter is in the DB world as well, SaiyanXjin5.

Where's the boundary of the solar system? After Neptune? Kuiper Belt? Termination Shock? Oort Cloud?
In any case, Cell can probably destroy the entire mass of the solar system, but I very much doubt he could create a blast radius that would cover the entire thing even if the boundary was just after the last planet.

I believe he can do it, but i also think Toriyama must have forgoten how big and hard it is to blow up the entire solar system. We had a topic like that before, and most of us were in a conclusion that Cell's Solar KHH had enough power to blow away the solar system, but could not overcome the extreme radious of it. This explanation seems fine to me and i don't see a problem.

If he blows up the sun, core or not, he blows it up. The sun is central to the solar system's integrity. Everything else loses orbit and falls into chaos or falls out of orbit, likely colliding with other celestial bodies. Point is no more solar system, so Cell did it. Sounds like a destroyed solar system to me. Besides the Super Nova would at least reach the asteroid belt, and with nothing to orbit, the gas giants would fall out of orbit and destroy themselves or find other orbits, so it'd be irrelevant.

I think the statement uses "could" instead of "will" or even "can". Leaves it a bit more to interpretation that way.
