How much development do Vegeta need?

I'm going sound like I'm bitching lol. So warning.

How character development do Vegeta need? He went from a jerk to a father who's mad at himself for ignoring his son to someone who's willing to do anything for the Earth and his family to the same thing happening in BoG. And he even got a brother that hates fighting

Now some may remember that I don't like BoG but I'm trying NOT to be bias. But in future special manga chapters or even movies how much more does Vegeta need? How did BoG further Vegeta character? In what way did he developed? It was established in a much better way in the Boo Arc that Vegeta(as a Majin none the less) will do anything for his family and towards he end of Boo Arc the Earth. Now in BoG he does the same except it's goofy. I hear people saying it's making his character more complete and showing he'll do anything for his family. Um….didn't he already do that when he BLEW HIMSELF UP(I do this for you Bulma and Trunks). In the Cell Arc Vegeta attacked Cell because Trunks died. He showed that he loved him and in Boo Arc he showed he loved Bulma.

So how is doing goofy dances(Which I thought was kinda funny) giving his more devolplement? Why do Vegeta need any more of that? Vegeta character was complete the moment he killed himself. So why do people constantly asked for more Vegeta development? What more do fans want? No one in DBZ needs anymore development. I just don't see it.

I don't think Battle of Gods intention was to further develop his character. Vegeta is simply a popular character, so he receives a lot of screen time.

Because Vegeta completly swalloed his pride in this movie in order to protect his friends and the earth, yes he did loved and sacrifised himself for his family back at Buu Arc and also wen berserk when he saw his future son falling, but he never truly swalloed his pride in this degree, he made things which were complelty out of character just to protect his loved ones.

Exactly this.

What happened in BoG wasn't character development in and of itself... it was more the result of character development.

Well, as far as I'm concerned his character development was perfect from the Saiyan arc to the Cell Games until it was screwed up in the Boo arc. His character took a step back when it should've been a step forward.

But that's just me.

Vegeta's character development in the Boo arc was a step forward. It was at that point he finally realized how important his family meant to him and he completely mellowed out.

In the Buu arc, despite admitting and proving that he cared about his family and evn the Earth, he still was ruled by his pride. He came back from death to face a Buu he knew was far stronger than the one who he had already failed to kill and yet he was still adamant he would not fuse with Goku and he would fight Buu alone. His hurt pride at Goku 'taking it easy' on him and the idea of needing to combine to defeat an enemy was enough for him to go into battle to certain death...double death! He destroyed the potara earing as well. In BOG he dances, sings and humiliates himself to ease Beerus temperament. Shortky after giving up his pride he gets a major power boost and has his little "my Bulma" moment and that's the point, it is his pride that held him back.

Vegeta is a prideful character. That's who he is. He shouldn't throw out his pride entirely.

He doesn't, he just stops it affecting decisions regarding the lives of others so much. He has more to care for than battle now, so his pride can take a back seat every now and again with less resistance than it used to. Goku has pride too, Beerus points that out, just not as much as Vegeta to the point where it gets in the way.

But this is what character development is all about, he was a character who would never let his pride even for a moment, and yet in BOG he finally puts it aside from some time to saves his friends and e entire earth, the Vegeta of the past would never dare to do this, but this is his development.

Vegeta will always be prideful. He has learned how to control it and not become blinded by it like he has in the past. It's in his blood to be "Regal and Arrogant" What he did in BoG is a major character change for him.

Whether or not this change is allowing him to reach deeper into his potential is still up for debate.

By the end of the Cell Games his character had already reached the point where he realized how important his family was to him, also admitting Kakarrot was the better of the two, also admitting Gohan was too and was even able to say sorry to Gohan. Then in the Boo arc AT undid that development and brought back Cyborg Arc Vegeta, and had end of Boo arc Vegeta get to the point where he was by the end of the Cell Games.

It was a step back not forward.
