SSJ Grade 2 Strain

 It's a nice theory SSJ2, and actually ties into one I've been meaning to explore for a while now... that Freeza's "100%", Perfect Cell's "Full Power", and SSJ Grade 2 are actually all the same technique.

 Freeza's 100% I can definitely see. Why Cell though? His full power didn't seem to pump him up. Unless you mean his power-weighted form.

 Nah, his "Full I-Get-Tanked-By-Children Power"

As for why... I like to tie things together in neat little packages.

Also, his "Full power" has been compared to SSJ Grade 2 in the past (due to the aura etc)... so I might as well attempt it [at some point].

Curious though... would Mastering SS make a difference on Grade 2 and 3?

What I mean is, would Grade 3 still have the same strain once regular SS is Mastered?
Well, there must be some reason for Goku/Vegeta/Trunks not using it during the Cell Games.
True, but then that brings up the question if either of them even attempted using Grade 3 prior to the Cell Games but after they Mastered SS.

Not saying it would make a difference, but that's something I've always wondered. However, either way it probably wouldn't make much of a difference unless they had time to prep for a beam struggle, because I honestly believe that's the only good use Grade 3 has.

 Cell's power up would be more Grade 3ish, wouldn't it? Trunks said that Cell made the same mistake as he did and, considering how insane he was acting, Cell wouldn't care about the speed loss.

Grade 2 has a bigger amount of strain than SSJ, but it was never showcased.

Cell's form that I'm proposing the comparison of is the one BEFORE his giant, slow, similar to SSJ Grade 3 (with a dash of Namekian growth thrown in for taste) form... the power he claims as his "full power".

 I do have a problem with people doubling (in some cases, tripling) its energy output over SSJ though— isn't SSJ2 a 2x increase over SSJ1? In that case, this would imply that ASSJ would be equal to or greatly than SSJ2 in terms of power. Would speed really make that much of a difference?

And that would also imply that SSJ2 is an even more perfect super saiyan state where stamina loss may be reduced completely, which renders AT's decision to scrap SSJ2 and SSJ3 completely pointless.

Actually, I've seen someone state a theory that I think ties it all up.
100%, Full Power, and SSJ Grades 2 and 3 are essentially just like Kaioken. They increase the user's base power despite the user being incapable of actually handling such an energy boost. It's not meant to be used for long periods of time, because the user isn't actually transforming. They're merely pumping more energy into their bodies than they can handle.
An actual transformation increases the amount of energy they can hold, rendering 100%, Full Power, and the SSJ grades, just like kaioken, irrelevant. If Freeza could transform into a fourth state, or if Cell found a state beyond perfection, just like how the Saiyans discovered SSJ and SSJ2, then they'd not need to use such bulky, wasteful forms.

I totally butchered his theory (and the English language) but that's the gist of it.

I think ssj2 needs to be at least *4 ... and thus assj is *2 and ussj is *4

 The only flaw in my theory is that Goku should have used Grade 2 against Cell. Goku seemed to think Cell was exerting his full power, and Goku's SSJ power was still in reach of that. Grade 2 should have pushed him into the stomp territory over Cell, unless he knew Cell was still concealing a large amount of power.

I didn't get that impression. All he knew was that he used his full power, with little concern on how much power Cell was using.
